My bday is Monday and yesterday I got my bday e-mail from them and it was $4 off 2 adult entrees!!! The SAME coupon that comes in the paper!!! I was not very impressed!
dawn
I got mine too. It was a $5 off 2 adult entrees. I agree, not anything different than on line or in the papers.

I went to Red Lobster on my birthday Dec. 11 and was told they don’t give you anything anymore for your birthday. Sooooooo disappointed.
curley

I have twin sons that will be 16 on Januarty 16th and want to eat at Red Lobster…so please don’t let us down!!
skizzatt
They told me they no longer give a free dessert because there were complaints from some customers about it! I don’t believe one word of that. We will no longer be going there for our birthdays.

Just came from Red Lobster last night. We went to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. One of the main reasons we went was because of the song + cake which most places do.. Red Lobster, Applebees, etc. He likes seafood so we chose Red Lobster.
At the end of our meal, the waitress brought out one of those little blue dishes that they put the dip in, and it was filled with whip cream and a candle stuck in the middle. WTF? Whip Cream… seriously?!
Our bill was $130 for 4 people and I shared a meal with my husband! I don’t think a slice of cake would have “busted” them.

I took my son to Red Lobster in Waterford, MI for his 17th birthday dinner! Let me tell you I will never go there again. The place was half empty but yet we had a half hour wait. We was seated at our table but didn’t have a server for over 15 to 20 minutes when we actually flagged some one down. They asked us what special occasion we was there for and we told them my sons bday. So we was assuming he was going to get some tyoe of dessert. The serve was horrible had to ask for refills, the food was ok at best. The place was dirty! Were disappointed!
Megan
Cherie, did you ever take an english class? Do you know why there was a wait? Because at a lot of restaurants, servers are only allowed to have 3-5 tables. That means if you have only 5 servers on, only 25 tables can be seated, and thats why the restaurant looks half empty. You probably complained and they tried to seat you faster so you would shut up, but the reason why they don’t seat you right away is BECAUSE you wont get any service for a while. If all the servers have 3-5 tables, they have to focus on those tables alone. It’s not like every server can take on a ton of tables at once. Would you rather wait in the lobby until a server has a free table and can focus all their attention on you, or get seated immediately and wait 10-20 minutes until the server has an open table? Either way, you don’t understand the restaurant business, so shut up.
ANNABELLE
YOUR A FUCKIN BITCH HEY!!!!!
ANNABELLE
MAYBE IF YOU SERVERS WERENT SUCH IDIOTS AND WENT AND GOT A REAL EDUCATION YOU COULD DO MORE THAN 3-5 LITTLE TABLES, HOW PATHETIC ARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
tabitha
Wow Annabelle you sound like a really great person. Why don’t you go to church & try to find some good in your life. No reason to be so nasty. I put myself through school waiting tables & had to deal with small minded people like you ALL the time. I bet you are cheap too.
Saam
You all need to relax. It seems that Annabelle was just defending Cherie because Megan was being quite rude. This is a stupid internet page so maybe everyone should just take a chill pill.

Megan:
You may know everything about serving, but you don’t know anything about business and neither does your boss. What kind of establishment doesn’t have enough servers on hand to get people quickly to a table? Cherie waited 50 minutes to get served in a half-full restaurant, and you don’t understand her complaint? You need to find work in another profession if anyone will hire you.
nicole
I agree!
Corallee
I dont know. I was a server and i could serve up to 20 tables by myself. The most I’ve served by myself was 30 people. So no its not cause they had 3 to 5 tables its cause they were lazy and slow. Sorry not sorry.
Wayne
Are you people for real? come to my house and let’s all have chicken!
Wayne
Yeah, I said chicken!
Lauren
We seriously need an apocalypse. I don’t car if I die in the process, the world will be a better place without all you stupid people slowing down our evolution.
G
Agreed.

I think some of the comments I read about Birthday s was very crappy about what they did to you on your Birthdays. Some of these sights are just a trap just to get you to buy anyway. A trap for almost anything. It starts in some but not all free sample sights. Some sample sights are alright but they can be hard to find if you do not know were to go.

I belong to the Red Lobster club. I went there last week to celebrate my and my sister’s birthdays. We told them it was our birthday and they didn’t do anything special – not even say “Happy Birthday”. I suppose it depends on your Red Lobster.
rofa
Its all based on hrs which is based on business the establishment may only have enough money to staff those few servers and maybe they were short handed.
Randy
I think it is time for a group hug.

Let’s stick to the subject about Red Lobster! The subject is not how good the food is; not how long a customer had (or has) to wait to get served; not how dirty or clean the tables are; not how friendly the wait persons are (or are not), etc. Rather, the subject is that a BIG, national chain restaurant that we ALL highly patronize is too cheap to give something, even of small value, to a customer on his/her B’Day. Red Lobster OUGHT to give something for the patron’s birthday other than a song! Dang, Red Lobster, PLEASE make a person feel a little special! But in the end, we always have choice/s, like: celebrate our birthdays at other establishments that treat the customer special, or tradeoff from the wait person’s tip/s to pay for something special at Red Lobster for the B’Day person! Use that technique of trading off tips, until Red Lobster becomes big-hearted enough or concered for their wait persons enough to start giving something to customers on their birthdays – a cocktail, a soda, a dessert, an entree, a percentage discount … SOMETHING! Step up, Red Lobster, and stop acting like a company that’s headed up by a stingy/cheap person, a non-savvy business person, or by some other bad name or title in our Country! Believe me, something that’s as small as NOT giving something to recognize a customer’s B’Day could lead a company to bankruptcy, esp. if enough customers feel OFFENDED by being snubbed by a company they patronize all through the year. So, Red Lobster, stop your current, insensitive practice regarding customers’ B’Days! After all, your food is NOT Soooo tasty that you have NO competition. And we, ALL, know that you, Red Lobster, does not have bargain prices! Soooo, be careful Red Lobster. Be verrrrry careful with your apparently non caring, insensitive practice about B’Days, ’cause B’Days are VERY special to people!! B’Days are as special to people as their names! //

What kind of idiots does Red Lobster hire? I called today because it is my birthday and I belong to the birthday club, but never received a coupon. The bright? person who answered the phone says to me, yeah you can come in…of course I can come in, what about my birthday?….we don’t do anything for your birthday, but you can still come in! What an idiot!!!!!
Brian
My bday is less than a week away. I’ll try to remember to report back here what kind of freebie I get.
Brian

$5 off two entrees. I’ll assume that’s $5 total. Keg gives you a free steak dinner when you buy another at regular price.

I came here for finding out what red lobster does. left feeling depressed from all the mean comments..

As a long time retailer for 35 years, I’m reminded about several policies and experiences that make a difference.
All this noise about Red Lobster and the food quality/service staff/wait time/birthday desserts, etc. is kind of the core of the real problem here and the real outcome of being in business.
I also went to Red Lobster recently and took my wife for her birthday and her sister for company… Food was not what we hoped for, the waiter was arrogant and slow, etc. etc. My wife was surprised with a small dish of vanilla ice cream (two bites and it was gone)
The point is that if you are thrilled with your experience at any business, you might tell one person, but if your experience is not good, you will tell everyone you know and never return.
And by the way it’s not about the business or in this case the restaurant and their efforts and the reality of the meal experience,, it’s only about the perception of the customer… That is all that matters. Period.

We just moved from Atlanta to the Tampa Bay area. After going to Atlanta-area Red Lobsters for all family birthdays for over 25 years, we were so disappointed when the Red Lobster here did nothing for my sister’s birthday. I told the hostess when we came in, and we waited and waited–nothing happened! OurAtlanta location makes a big fuss over customers on their birthdays; why doesn’t Florida? As loyal, long-time customers, we felt very let-down, and I was embarrassed!

This thread has been entertaining. People get worked up about their birthday and Red Lobster. I joined the rewards club. They’re giving me a choice of several appetizers or a dessert. I think that is pretty good.
