Update: Wow, that was quick. It looks like they've already reached their target number of signups. I'll let you know if I see them open the application again!
Surveys sites offer a great way to earn a little extra pocket cash, and Pinecone Research is one of the best companies around. I just got word that they're accepting applications again!
They pay $3 per completed survey via PayPal and occasionally will mail out products for panelists to test. I’ve always found them to be pleasant and responsive to work with, and they pay very quickly.
Pinecone is a pretty exclusive site, and it’s not often that they open up their membership registration, so I’d recommend applying now if this sounds like something you’d be interested in!

I have been with Pincone about a month and love it! I have already received three $3 checks and 2 products to try and than review. I'm going to recommend this one to my mom! Thanks, Tara!
i signed up a few weeks ago, but have yet to get an email confirming anything
I signed up the last time around and I already received a3.00 check for a survey I did.woohoo! Hope I get more surveys.
I never confirmed it the last time around. I just confirmed & answered the personal questions. Why not give it a try, right?
One thing I was wondering, do you have to have a paypal account or is a check mailed to you for each survey?
how long does it take for them to send a check? i just completed a survey and saw that my account has been credited the $3.
I just signed up, but it said I would receive an e-mail soon if I qualified. I wonder what you need to "qualify?"
that is what it said for me too
Yah! I just got in, thanks! You know I had been with them for years & stopped getting emails. I had asked & they said they had removed me for not doing surveys & I'd have to rejoin. Anyway, I'm back in again!
Lori they can either pay by paypal or a check can be mailed. You choose which you want.
I got accepted last week and just did my first survey last night. I'm pleased so far. I was wondering how often they send you surveys?
I signed up the last time this was posted, took my first survey Friday night and just got a check today!
Thanks so much for everything you share, it has thoroughly enhanced my life!!! :D
I signed up one of the last few times you posted about this. I've only got to take one survey so far but the check just showed up today! What a nice surprise!
Thanks for sharing this Tara!
I signed up a couple of weeks ago, did my first survey and got my first check today. Super easy and fun. Plus the company is really nice to work with.
$3 does not seem a lot for a survey not sure why they are so exclusive, but I managed to get in this time.lets see what kind of surveys I get.
I got accepted last time too (last week sometime, I think). I got my email confirmation, and filled out the additional information so they would know what surveys to send me, but I haven't gotten any surveys yet. Bummer. I'm excited to get started.
Great survey site. I have gotten about 3 products to try out!
I've been a member for months and get a $3 check in the mail every1-2weeks. Anyone know how much PayPal will charge me to transfer the monies directly to me instead of the check??
AnneK- it depends what kind of account on PayPal you have.
If you have a personal account (you do buying and not selling), then you can accept payments from people and companies (limited) as long as they aren't using a credit card or debit card with no cost to you.
If you have a business account (which I have- bummer for the fees!), then they charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction of whatever money you take in. So 2.9% of $3.00 is $0.09 rounded up + $0.30= $0.39.

Actually $3.00 for a survey is a pretty decent amount. Most sites only pay $1.00 or less per completed survey, and PineCone's surveys are relatively quick and easy. Plus you occasionally then also get products to try for free in addition to the cash. I think it's a great way to make a little extra cash, but each to his own opinion.
Jenni -thanks for the info. I have a Premier PayPal account - not the same as a business account according to their website. I guess I will have to call them to clarify. If I have to pay fees, I will just cont to get checks as as the fees add up. Im happy for my $3 here and there, its the most I get paid from any survey comp:) Pinecone is great!
well ok....maybe $3 might be a decent amount.I didn't know surveys only pay $1 each.I am used to doing medical surveys that pay anything from $25-$150 /survey so maybe I had those in mind while I said that.
SA-----what site do you use for your medical surveys?? I would be interested in doing this, esp since I'm in the medical field!! Could you send me the site/webpage through my email: htlagrone@hotmail.com
THANKS!
I just did my first survey with Pinecone and it went really well! I am looking forward to continuing to work with them!!! Thanks for the great information!!!!:)
SA -I'd love the website for the medical surveys as well......thanks in advance! I've recently been laid off so everything counts:)

I sugned up the last time it came open. Since then I have done 1 survey and received a $3 check in the mail today. Just wished that there was more surveys.
I'd be interested in the medical surveys as well...
Just be careful with Pinecone. Follow their rules to a T and don't try to take a survey from any other computer than your own. I was with them for years, tried to take a survey from my mom's computer while on vacation, but because she's also a Pinecone member they blacklisted me! I tried to send an email explaining what had happened and received a rather nasty response. Oops! Great company, but stay in good standing.
I signed up and got a confirmation email from a Karen Scott on February 16, but I still haven't received a survey. Does anybody know how long it usually takes them to send out the first one?
SA-
Wow! Compared to the medical surveys, you're right, not much money. Didn't realize that.
Ruby, i got my welcome letter Feb 7 and got my first survey on the 19th i think. the sent me a check on the 22nd, haven't gotten it yet though. I thought I had signed up as Paypal, but I guess not. I guess it just depends on what survey we qualify for at the time.
I too would love to find out about the medical survey. I worked in a pediatric office for 7 years and now am a stay at home mommy. theresamoss80@gmail.com. thanks
Ruby-
I got a similar confirmation email on Feb. 8, but I haven't gotten a survey yet either. Waiting anxiously...hopefully we'll both be getting the surveys soon :)
I clicked on the link this morning and it clicked through to another survey organization, tried several times with different browsers, and it took me to the Nelson something site, do not know what was going on with your link at about 7am this morning.

is where the link took me. National Consumer Panel, is the place NOT Nelson, sorry for the error, was trying to remember, then clicked on the link again, and that is where I was sent....

I love pinecone research I have tested many products from dog food to cat little to even ceral with them. I opt to take the check instead of paypal still. But those 3$ checks add up real quick.
The picture above isnt clickable and I went to the site directly and there is no place to sign up. I have heard wonderful things about this site and have been waiting for registration to open up. Have they already closed it? Am I too late?? :(
That's why I added the update to the post -- yes, they've already reached their max number of applications right now. I'll definitely let you all know when they open it up again. I heard that they may possibly be open again next week, so watch for my post!
I worked with Pinecone Research last year and the surveys vary greatly. The ones in the beginning would only take 15-20 minutes to complete, not bad for $3. But then I was receiving surveys that took me over an hour to complete, in my opinion not worth $3. I know other people who love it, but in the end it was not worth the time for me.
Thanks for posting this when it was open. I got in and already filled out my first survey.
Christine
I am glad most have good experiences with this survey organization. I did my first survey 2 days ago and honestly, the downloads took forever. I kept trying to be patient, but this one survey would have taken me hours to complete if at all. It never got better, so I opted out. I really think something was wrong with their/my system.
I have already done one survey already and it was real easy to do. I just received my first check! Yeah!
How long does it take to get a confirmation email from them???
I cant find the URL, where to click and where to register?
I would like also like information on a reputable medical survery site, SA. wilsonwaggles at yahoo dot com.
Hi! I would like info on the medical survey site, as well. If someone is sending it out, please send to me, too.
brooke.myarbonne@gmail.com
I click the to join button and nothing happens. I would love to join.
Does anyone know how long the average survey takes? Is this worth my time for $3 a survey? Just wondering before I sign up. Thanks!
