I was lucky again this week. Got the $75. I typed fast to "gift" it to someone and that person can't seem to open it.

Keep trying. I've been trying since the beginning and got a good one this week and last week.

does anyone have an extra $50 off $100 they would be willing to share?

Reply

I think reselling them on ebay is so rude.

I think that there should be something in the fine print that if you resell them they become void.

Reply

11 kim September 11, 2009 at 1:17 pm

yes but it would be really hard to prove it was sold when it got to the store

Reply

12 kim September 11, 2009 at 1:18 pm

i guess they need to make it with the person's name on it and id them. then that would stop the problem with selling them

I would be willing to peruse ebay for ON and then contact the sellers that if they don't take down the listing they will ________ whatever punishment ON would come up with to prevent this from happening.

No one is "bidding on their time." Who pays $15 for 2 seconds worth of work?

Reply

23 Amanda September 11, 2009 at 4:13 pm

I just looked at one listing. The seller had four available. How is that possible? If all of us can find them in a matter of seconds and they are gone in those seconds, how did the seller get four???? CHEATERS.

15% off coupon...lower left hand corner. Select Mobile and then enter a phone number to sign up for text weekly update messages. Once you submit a phone number, you'll get the pop up for the 15% off the item of the week coupon.

I figured out the 15% off. You have to sign up for Text message and that is when it pops up.

I don't know what everyone's problem is about people selling the old navy coupons on ebay. I'm lucky people do that because I never get the good coupons but I can go buy them and get deals that other people are getting. Which is especially good for people who are on a budget. If you are complaining about people selling them shouldn't you also be complaining about people finding out from others where the hiding places are.

31 Amanda September 11, 2009 at 10:33 pm

Kris,
Why do we have issues? Many reasons. Let's look at the most important: We all go on the site for these coupons. Many of us will find the big ones within a few seconds of the update. Most (and I do mean most) of the many will fail at getting the coupons because they are gone within those few seconds. Following those few seconds, e-bay sellers will have coupons available. One seller could have 4 available coupons - as I witnessed today. In my estimation, it is statistically improbable - if not impossible! - for one person to get 4 of the same high-value coupon within a few seconds. How is it that so many of us find them and they are gone as soon as the site updates, but yet e-bayers have plenty to share? The e-bayers are clearly using a program or programs to cheat.

You say that you would get the same deal as everyone else if you purchase one. Au contrare, my friend. You purchase it and you devalued your coupon by the amount you spent. If you spent $15 on a $45/100, then it's only $30/100, figuratively speaking not literally speaking.

Another reason we dislike it: Coupons are not to be sold. e-bayers get around the policy by stating that purchasers are paying for their time to get the coupon. Um, let's see, it takes a few seconds to find and the same amount of time for them to disappear. If you paid $15 for a coupon, then you paid $3 per second if it took them 5 seconds to get them. That's very expensive.

By purchasing their coupons, you are guilty of abetting. ENJOY!

...And, revealing hiding places does not require the dishonest transfer of cash. We're all on a budget and we help each other. e-bayers are preying on our desperations.

I've had a change of heart, and I feel a boycott coming on. In fact, as of now I am boycotting the OldNavyWeekly.com site. I sent a long message to the Old Navy Customer Service Department imploring them to either shut down the site for good or employ a better programming staff to find solutions.

Old Navy is condoning the resell of these coupons as long as the company continues to update the site without any measures to combat the issues.

These are just coupons, people. We should not waste hours waiting for the opportunity when the opportunity does not fairly exist. There are better ways to save. Sure, 75/100 is awesome, but there are people who can acheive this thru other methods...wait for a good sale or clearance and use a coupon you received by signing up for Old Navy e-mails, or use coupons thru your ON credit card, etc. If you have a bank VISA or MasterCard with rewards, you may be able to use your points to purchase Old Navy gift cards. If you have a credit card and it is not a rewards card, switch it to one that does have rewards. They offer great gift cards for lots of retailers and such. Head to a good consignment shop. They always have great deals. Some shops offer lots of great brand names such as Gap, Old Navy, Janie & Jack, etc.

Let's not get desperate! We should help each other find ways to save; ways that don't involve insanity!

You will not find me posting here next week. I refuse to visit the ON site and take part in the unfair game.

I am with you Amanda....after pulling an all nighter with you guys (I did have a lot of laughs!), I was shrieking at the computer when in a matter of 30 seconds the good coupons were gone. One per customer my foot. If all the e-bayers can get multiples, something is wrong with the system. I will not be doing this again. I managed to stay up until 3pm (thankfully I pre-made dinner for the family), woke up to eat around 6pm, fell back to sleep at 7pm, woke at 5am on the sofa, and woke again 8 am in my bed. This is NOT how I am going to live the rest of my life, and you are right. A well timed clearance sale can produce the same results.

I really think you guys are putting too much of your time and effort into this and taking it a little overboard. They are coupons for crying out loud.

I missed anything good this week. Had to leave for work during the updating screen and of course all the good ones were gone by the time I was anywhere near a computer again.

41 Amanda September 12, 2009 at 11:19 am

Bingo, Kris! They ARE just coupons. So why cheat to get them? And for a profit?

Why are you agreeing with their cheating? Cheating is cheating regardless of the goods or services.

Jaime,
It's funny...A few weeks ago I went to ON. They had last fall's gloves for sale! I got a pair for 47 cents! It takes a lot to pay attention to sales and it's time consuming. Some of it is luck. I'm not good at either paying attention or having good luck! I'm trying to get better. There is a science to it all. Retailers go by their calendar. We just have to figure out what their calendar is.

Reply

44 Dixon September 12, 2009 at 2:03 pm

If the coupons printed with the name of the person who was so lucky to get one and had to show a matching ID to use it they wouldn't be able to sell them. I know we wouldn't be able to share like we have, but at least it would shut them down from ebay.

Hey, 75% off is nothing to sneeze at kris. Especially when your hours have been cut and money is tight with 2 kids (one in college, one in high school). I think Kris may be an e-bay reseller.

Reply

46 ANDREA September 12, 2009 at 8:56 pm

I agree with you Amanda. Dixon I think that is a good idea also. They should have to show an I.D. witht the name printed on the coupon!

Reply

47 Dixon September 13, 2009 at 7:49 am

I did read that the coupon count was low this week. There was only 250 of the 75 off and 1000 of the 50. I read this on
http://www.engineeradebtfreelife.com/search/label/Chatroom
I keep checking to see if maybe they will add more. I quess they did that back a few months.

48 Kris September 13, 2009 at 9:27 am

First off, I am not an ebay reseller. I don't have time for that, plus I never get the good coupons ever. All I was saying was that you shouldn't get all over people for buying them. I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old. I'm a full time nursing student and my husband works 7 days a week so I can stay home with them. I can't afford to just go to old navy and spend money I look for coupons all the time on ebay and everywhere else. It sucks that I have to pay for coupons that other people can get for free. But, I'm not one of those lucky people. I just don't see why you all care so much and what to take that opportunity away from others. If it bothers you than don't do it and don't look for it on ebay, but don't get on people that do.

Reply

49 Amanda September 13, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Kris,
Don't you get it???? You can't get a big coupon because the e-Bayers steal them (half or more available) using a program as soon as the site updates, forcing you to buy them. The coupons are meant to be free and won fairly. You are condoning their cheating by purchasing them.

I don't have a job because of relocating for my husband's work. We have a 2-year old and a 4-year old. I've got school tuition to pay for, college loans, etc. We're all in the same boat. You can't justify your actions or theirs.

Reply

50 Dixon September 13, 2009 at 4:30 pm

Amanda is right. I don't think it was Old Navy's intention to see these coupons on Ebay. There are a lot of the 10.00 off 50.00 for sale on Ebay when they are still available to get for free on the Old Navy weekly site. Kind of an insult to the people who buy them. It was supposed to be a fun thing to look forward to and a chance of getting a big one by a little luck and skill and being able to share with a friend. Just about every other coupon they post is available on a coupon site for free, so why would anyone want to pay for it. That defeats the whole purpose. I hope the people who get them in an inappropriate manner get stuck with them. Everyone on this site has fun with trying to get the coupons every week and I hope that the few who do it for profit don't ruin it for everyone.
