Yes, and loved it. However, my dear husband accidentally sat on it...and that's $365.00 down the drain. I would highly suggest the warranty. :(

Did you call them, Erin? They replaced my Kindle that was damaged from the cover I purchased. Perhaps they can help you out too. I found their customer service to be stellar.

I have a Kindle and I love it. The main reason I love it is because when I'm reading a book that has words I don't know I can use the dictionary in the Kindle to look them up. I don't even lose my place when I'm reading. I love it. The free books are the best part! I have to admit I've been cheating on my Kindle lately with the $1 books at Books-A-Million. I also go to the library alot because we are really tight on money. But the free books on Kindle every week are worth it. Oh if you search the Kindle store on your Kindle I find that the top Kindle sales books are most of the time free ones. So they are easy to find. Also they will email you every week and tell you about free books also.

Thanks! I am excited for all the free reading material. Just so those reading know, you don't have to have a kindle to read these books. You can download a reader to your computer from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&ref_=kcp%5Fpc%5Fmkt%5Flnd&docId=1000426311

I have a Kindle and love it. Mostly because if I finish a book and still have fourteen hours to wait with a kid at the orthodontist, I can immediately download another one. But the cost of books is lower on the Kindle than it is at the bookstore, too. I've probably paid for mine in six months with what I've saved...but then, I buy a lot of books. Occupational hazard. :)

Dear Tara,

My dear daughter-in-law, Tracy De Benedictis, turned me on to your web site and has started me couponing. You're doing a wonderful thing for people! Then when she told me about your Kindle Book program, I HAD to write and see how I could get my book included? In case you need to know more. In a nutshell, years ago my first husband kidnapped our three children while I was at work and took them to his country. I went there to get them back. He wouldn't let them leave. So, I finally had to re-kidnap them and get them out through the jungle. It's an action/thriller filled with surprising twists and turns and a cliff hanger happy ending. All the Way Home is getting five-star reviews on amazon.com and was selected by one of the largest U.S. book distributors as one of their "top pick of new releases for 2009." If this sounds like something that will fit in your program, let me know. I can't wait to get started! Thank you!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Mary Suzanne

Tara,
I guess this system requires a second go-around. Again, let me know.

I'm reading Mossy Creek right now and it's a wonderful collection of short stories. I've enjoyed many of the free Kindle books I have downloaded. Haven't bought a book in ages!

Mary, I don't offer a Kindle program. I'm just informing my readers of the free options that are available on Amazon right now. If you want your book made into a Kindle version, you'd need to get in touch with someone at Amazon to find out how you'd go about doing that.

If I'm misunderstanding your post and you already have your book in Kindle format, I'd be happy to list it with the other free books if you're offering it at no charge currently.

I did not even know about Kindle until reading this website. Now, I want one. Please post if you ever find a special through amazon on them. $400 just is not in my budget at this time.

I downloaded the PC app on the 30th and in that time have managed to download over 100 free titles. Most of them are world-renown classics that I've always meant to read but never had the money to buy if I wanted to ever read them all. Now I have this amazing resource at my fingertips (literately) to read them wherever I want! I am saving my swagbucks (and praying that the hubby listens to all the prayers and hints) to have an actual Kindle in hand by my birthday in March.

Hi Blessed,
Occasionally I've seen some refurbished ones @ Amazon for closer to $200. Still really pricey, but way better than $400!

On buying a Kindle Ive seen them on Craigslist and on Ebay. You could buy Kindle 1 for cheaper right now then the newer Kindle 2

Go to your Appstore application on your iPhone and search for Kindle app, then download it. Easy Peasy. That's what I use and I love it.

The really awesome thing about the Kindle is that you can use all three versions -- desktop, iPhone, and actual Kindle -- and it will bookmark your place automatically so you can pick up right where you left off on any device.

I saved my money for a Kindle by doing surveys, saving on groceries with coupons, taking back pop bottles. It took almost 7 months but I did it!! And the best part? I did it with my money! My husband was impressed! I love it! I can read a little at a time and my daughter can't pull my book mark out. I love all the free and low priced books. If there is a bestseller I can't wait for it costs less on my Kindle. I would recommend it to everyone.
