I went into Walmart with a large stack of catalina coupons (I work at Circle K, I keep the good ones customers forget) and was told right off that they couldn't take them because they said 'only redeemable at Circle K'. I pointed to the signs they have at every register saying that they 'will gladly accept competitor's coupons' and the lady got snippy with me and demanded to see the coupons, which she then walked over to a manager who gave me the same speech. I informed them that I had used them there without issue before and even had a receipt showing such in my wallet which I pulled out to show her and again pointed to the sign right next to her face. She gave me an evil look and marched off to a phone while reading the back of the coupon, only to return and tell me that they would take them, but ONLY one per transaction and started muttering about whoever rang me up last time was getting written up. 7 times in the last month I've used them at walmart, only THIS store has given me problems like that. Seems that stores are STILL not being trained right. But when its abused and you end up getting 52 dollars by purchasing 65 $0.97 razors and hand me "3 dollars off" coupons (for each one) and purchasing 50 $0.97 breathe right strips and give me "$1.50 off coupons" (for each one) it just doesnt seem right. and i get so nervous i might lose my job. but, again its still neat to see all the savings rack up. but to have a csm breathing down my neck and watching every tiny mistake and treat me like they shouldnt have hired me makes my job harder. im glad you have provided the coupon policy to everyone here because there are some people who do not know the policy and insist i use the coupons. I hate walmart myself but its a job. haha. sometimes i direct customers to other stores based on my personal experiences at walmart or by seeing prices other places for way cheaper. sometimes i see a product someone else ad matched a few customers back and show them my ad and give them the price. I was told by a CSM that if the coupon wouldn't scan, even if it was legitimate and I am buying the item that they will not take the coupon. Was also told that say if you buy 3 of a certain item and have a valid coupon for each item that they will not accept either. The CSM was horrible had no customer service at all, called their customer service department just to get a call back that said "we had a meeting and we aren't supposed to override coupons any more, if they don't scan then they won't take", not acceptable at all. They give me my change back graciously and I have even been applauded by the CSM for great shopping.
