I don't generally post my local media appearances, but I know many of you have expressed interest in them recently, so I thought I'd share this short segment that aired yesterday afternoon on NBC4 Columbus.
It was such a pleasure chatting with Mikaela Hunt! If you're really interested, you can check out the raw interview footage here. I'll warn you up front that it's about ten minutes long and not terribly exciting though, LOL.

That was nice of you to share that with us! You did great :) Thank you for all you do to help us all save a little extra! I really appreciate it!
Thanks, it's usefully for me.
Tara, just want to say this is a great interview and thank you so much for sharing behind the scenes version. Keep it up.
thank you so much for all your time you put in for...US!
Just viewed and I must say you are a beautiful woman! Not only outside, but because you continue to do this for others so that we can spend less and save more!
Wow your amazing, stumbled upon here looking for coupons haha thanks allot, you’re an inspiration ;)
This is awesome! Way to go! Does the news just find you and want to do a story on you?
I already had a relationship with them because I actually used to do an appearance every other week on the 4:00 show, but then they canceled that time slot. But in this case it was setup through Coupons.com because they were looking for an Ohio-based blogger to comment on why Ohio had three cities on the list of their "top 20 coupon-using" cities.
What a good interview, your heart really showed! You are my favorite coupon site, just wanted to let you know that you are appreciated!
Loved the raw footage!!! It is nice to get to know the "Deal Seeking Mom". Thank you because of you we are able to afford to have a large family and for me to work only a few hours a week.
Thanks for the video. Useful tips!
Awwww!! This is great! You go mama! I check your site every day and I love it! We're one of those family's that is just trying to keep afloat and your website helps us to do that! =)

I saw you on the early morning news Tara!
I appreciate everything you do for us. You rock!
I think it's awesome, you! You're very natural on camera- NOT an easy skill to master. Rock on! :)
we appreciate you being the voice of reason after watching the extreme couponeers last night, most of it was disgusting.
Your blog is my favorite. I have no idea how you find the time to do what you do with 5 children. Thank you for all you do to help us save and provide for our families.
Grear job Tara. Thanks for all that you do. May you and your family continued to be blessed. I have joined several coupon sites but I must admit that yours is my favorite :)
Great interview, Tara! As you can probably tell from your loyal band of followers, you are a true inspiration. Thank you so much for brightening many days for many people.
I follow around 4-5 blogs a day for couponing, but yours is probably the BEST! Keep up the good work!
I love your site and your house is so clean / organized !
Thanks for sharing.
Oh, believe me -- it does not look that way 90% of the time. It seems like as I'm cleaning up the kids are dragging everything back out...
well done. ...i have to admit that I frequent the site almost daily and I'm a dude from Oklahoma.
I'm so glad to hear that, Matt! I really think there are a lot more guys that stop by, but they seem a little hesitant to comment...
Great job, Tara! I liked that you advocated for the common sense approach to couponing, to stay balanced. Would love to hear more about how you managed to keep your house during tough times, as we are in that place now. Thank you!
Good point, Jennifer -- I didn't really write about it at the time because it was such a painful experience and, frankly, I was a little embarrassed that we got to that point. Looking back, I can see that while we weren't meticulous about our finances, there were plenty of circumstances that were beyond our control.
I'll see if I can compose something, but in the meantime maybe you can find something to help you here:

Awesome interview! I also visit your site daily! Your site has helped my family save so much money and my daughter appreciates it as well because it allows me to stay at home with her and not work.
Tara,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all that you do! If it were not for you then our family would still be in debt. I love that you keep doing all of this free!
I hate the sites that state that they are doing this type of thing as a ministry but really it is just a way for them to make more income for their families.
I always thought ministry work was work done for free out of the goodness of your heart.
Tara thanks for all that you do out of the goodness of your heart. God will bless you and yours many times over.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Janet. I just want to be clear that I do earn an income from Deal Seeking Mom -- in fact, I'm still the sole income provider for our family. However, I would never do so at the expense of my readers, and I'm committed to sharing a variety of ways to save, whether I earn something from it or not.
Yay! Great interview, T!
