Ok. Can someone please explain to me how to target manufactuer coupons work. I was told that only target will accept them because they are specialty coupons for target directly from the manufac. Is this true. I have had every store in the last couple of months refuse to use them.

Target manufacturer coupons, meaning manufacturer coupons with the Target logo on them, are coded they same as any other manufacturer coupon. Technically you should be able to use them anywhere. The Target logo is just kind of suggesting that you use them at Target, but a number of other stores misinterpret that to mean that they can only be redeemed there. Trying to persuade them otherwise can be difficult, so some people will have a hard time with trying to use them elsewhere.

i’ve run into this problem with manufacturer coupons with the kroger logo on them. luckily, i’ve been able to convince the cashiers that they can be used at any store, kroger is merely suggesting and hoping that you will use them at their stores. kroger store coupons (or any store coupon for that matter) can not be used at other stores. if you’re unsure, read the “small print”. a store coupon will say something like “coupon only valid at kroger enterprise stores”. a manufacturer coupon with a store logo will say something like “retailer: kraft foods global, inc, or a subsidiary, will reimburse the face value of this coupon plus handling….”. nowhere on the coupon will it state that it’s only good for a certain store. to avoid problems i often use the u-scan if i know i’m going to be using a manufacturer coupon with a store logo.
