I am new to couponing and went to Safeway today and tried to "stack" coupons on smart balance. They would only double to $1 and said I could only use 1 manufacture coupon per item, but these were different coupons for the same product. I had $1 off coupons from smart balance website, and then they had 70 cent off coupons at the store next to the product. Do any of you know what the protocal here is? How do you "stack" coupons then? Frustrated..
I've been looking for someone who lives in the Chicagoland area and does this sort of thing with Jewel/Osco - do you know of anyone?
I feel that this site wouldnt list it if it where expired.
I only think it's necessary to list the expiration date if it ends up expiring half way through the sale. That way people will know that they need to use the coupon by a certain date. Other than that, I think the expirations dates give too much info. to look at.
Jo, because both of those coupons are manufacturer's coupons, they can't be stacked. Stacking refers to using a store coupon (which means the store eats the loss rather than submitting it to the manufacturer for reimbursement) and a manufacturer coupon on the same product.
Even though the $0.70/1 coupon were found in the store, they were likely still manufacturer's coupons.
Does that make sense?

Just at my local Safeway and they have keebler saltines and other awesome crackers for buy 5 pkgs at $10.00 and get $5.00 off instantly at the register...that's only $1 each for these great crackers! Pair it with a coupon and you have a real smokin deal!

To answer your question, Jo -- you cannot use more than one manufacturer's coupon on the same item. Stacking coupons involves using one manufacturer's coupon and one store coupon on the same item.

The expiration dates on only important for me when the sale price is ongoing but the coupon will soon expire. This is common for WalMart since their prices don't change weekly.
Tara.. IS there a list anywhere that shares bloggers from specific states that cover most or many more stores than.. say.. the 10 you have listed above?
I was lucky enough to see you give thanks to Jen at Ccherrypicker for the Giant Eagle matchups in the past, so I went to her website (from a link you provided) since I shop at GE often and found out shes in my neck of the woods and I found other local bloggers thru HER website.
It might be cool to have a link to a list of all the bloggers in various states/regions.. like the geographical map of friends locations on MySpace thingy.. or something anyways. Just a plain list would be great! :D
One thing I've noticed is that each of the bloggers have their own style, and they focus more on one thing than another.. so instead of me dropping one bloggers site/newsletter.. I read ALL the ones I've tied into. Some share some of the same thing, but none of them share ALL of the same content.. so each one is unique and has its own brand of special..
And Tara.. just so you know.. when Im telling someone new about couponing.. (and I do it alot) I give em only your web addie to read the "how tos" and follow first...cuz this is where I learned.. and its always the first one I go to when Im cruising the blogs.

Thank you--this is great news and will be helpful! I was wondering if you are aware of anyone who blogs about deals at 'Compare Foods'. This is a grocery chain that does not have very many stores (mostly east coast).
Just curious as to what areas the ladies doing the Winn Dixie and Albertson's deals are in. Both run regional deals and these are the only two stores in my area that are featured here. If we are not in the same area, I can offer up deals for the region I am in.
And back to the post at hand... That is AWESOME!!!

My opinion is like many others regarding the expiration dates. If the coupon is going to expire mid-sale, then I'd love to see an expiration date. It really helps me figure out the day I need to shop.

I agree with Christy and Jennifer. I only care about the expiration date if it will expire during the sale. Otherwise, TMI!
The expiration date thing is a 50/50 situation. I don't normally care unless the coupon is about to expire. I think that unless the coupon expires within a week, or within the time that the sale is going on, then you should point that out. However, if the coupon is in no hurry for expiring I wouldn't bother. When I do my own matches that's how I aim to do them.
I'm in S. Calif. with Ralphs (Kroger is parent but ads are DIFFERENT unfortunately), Vons (Safeway in N. Cal.), Albertsons, and Stater Bros.
Since Ralphs and Vons double to $1, I prefer these stores, particularly Ralphs.

Also, since the food ads for Target and Walmart are, from my experience, probably only in the SUPER stores, I find it frustrating to even look at these posts.
Is there any way of knowing when food ads are posted for Walmart and Target if it is the SUPER store deal?

I voted for expir. dates partly b/c if it is NOT expiring soon, and it's a so-so deal, I may wait to use it later.
BUT since it is more work, just knowing if they expir. during the ad week is VERY HELPFUL so you can use it before it expires...
I REALY APPRECIATE your listing of coupon sources - it is SO HELPFUL, and print links.
It is not necessary to note "limit 1" for so many posts, just if there is a higher limit.
Also, since P&G's generally expire at the end of the month, a general post at the beginning would suffice (e.g. "all expire on 10-31 unless otherwise noted").

I live in Rapid City SD and the only grocery stores we have here are Walmart, Safeway and Family Thrift Center. Do you have coupons for them? If so can you include these grocery stores to your "list" for those of us in small cities that are limited to grocery store options?

I also live in Rapid City, SD and we recently lost our only deal blogger for Family Thrift Center. I have been searching the web for a FTC blog and not had any luck. My grocery bill has gone up $20 a week that is $80 a month. I have tried to keep track of the deals myself, but I haven't the head for it. There is not one FTC blog. Could you help us out?

Since we are in the same town and you are doing coupons at safeway. ALWAYS give the safeway store coupons first. If you don't they will not accept them after you do the manufactures coupons. Walgreens in town does not accept manufactures coupons after you give the store coupons. So at walgreens here you need to give them the manufactures coupons first. so:
Safeway: Store coupons then manufacture (they only double manufactures coupons)
Walgreens: Manufactures then store coupons
Hope this avoids newbie frustration that I went through

have you tried the website "thegrocerygame"? I signed up for it recently and have found great grocery deals with Safeway. Paired with Tara's deals at Walgreens, I am finding great savings!

I a found two decent sites for Safeway the first is the same weekly add as ours and she rates the deal so you know how good a deal it is. She does not post as fast as the latter, BUT not all sales are good in our area.
