Giveaway: Avery Dennison School Supplies & Box Tops for Education

Now that school's back in session, the focus has shifted to helping our schools raise money to afford new supplies, equipment and programs to provide better education for our kids! This year, Avery Dennison has partnered with Box Tops for Education, and Avery school supplies now include coupons to clip and turn in to your school to be redeemed for cash.

Avery Dennison sent me this great gift basket of products so I can share my thoughts on them, plus I get to give the same basket away to one of my readers! I wish I could say I'm an organized person, but I subscribe more to the organized chaos theory. However, products like these inspire me to file things away in a more orderly manner. I enjoyed sorting and filing and labeling my papers with Avery's easy-to-use systems. Now if only I could keep them that way!

And who could resist the handy tote it was all packaged in? I have baskets and totes like these all over the house to corral all of our stuff. We have far more "stuff" than we actually need, but that's a project best tackled when I give these crutches the boot. Anyone want to help?

I also make a class website each year that has class photos, homework helpers, class calendars, and much more. Lastly, I am the yearbook rep for the whole school, so that in itself keeps me busy and volunteering from October until March.

21 Ruth Ann September 19, 2009 at 9:48 pm: I don't have kids, but I'm involved as a substitute mentor and as a prayer partner at the local elementary school as part of Kids Hope USA. Kids Hope USA is great group. They pair one elementary school with one church. The church provides mentors who meet one-on-one with each child in the program for one hour, once a week for the school year. Each mentor/student pair also has a prayer partner praying for them. It's amazing the amount of change that can take place in a child's life just by having one adult spend one hour once a week with them.
