Giveaway: $50 Walmart Gift Card

by Tara Kuczykowski on November 22, 2008 · 1,561 comments

How does an extra $50 to stretch your Christmas budget sound?

I know for many of us it would be a true blessing right now. Well, you're in luck, because I've got one $50 Walmart gift card up for grabs today that will arrive just in time to do some Christmas shopping!

So how can you win this?

If you're anything like me, I'm sure if you won this $50 GC, you'd end up spending it on anyone BUT yourself. So just for a minute I'd like you to pretend that you have no other obligations and can use this money to buy yourself a little something special. I think as mom we often overlook treating ourselves, so I'd like to hear what you'd buy if you were the winner. Resources for ideas are the Walmart website and the 2008 Holiday Entertaining Guide. Of course, if you're the winner you can use the gift certificate to purchase anything you want.

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four, for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment sharing what you would purchase if you were to spend the money on yourself only!

2. Take just 2 seconds to click over to The Coupon Cupboard to vote for Deal Seeking Mom as your favorite deals blog. Make sure to come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you voted! (This option is only available through Sunday, November 23rd, at 8:00 p.m., EST.)

3. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

4. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winner easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me simplify the process!

Prize:
1 $50 Walmart Gift Certificate

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Monday, November 24th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment number and post the winner on Tuesday, November 25th. Good luck!

While you're in a contest entering mood, don't forget to check out the Giveaway Gathering for a variety of contests being hosted on Deal Seeking Mom readers' blogs!

I would get some super soft pjs for myself and the rest I would still spend on my kids. I'm bad. I know.

Oh wow, just the thought of spending money on myself!!! I'd start off with some nice fluffy slippers and some cozy new pjs. Then I'd get some bubble bath and candles and maybe even a new cd or dvd and some chocolate! Then I'd declare myself as having a night off to enjoy my new luxuries!

If I had to spend it entirely on myself, I would probably buy: PJ Pants, a book, a christmas cd and some brownies. If I had money left over...some comfy soft socks.

If I won the $50 gift card I would definitely buy the $9 roaster that I saw in the last sale ad. My boyfriend received a free turkey from work, but we have nothing to make it in! I would also probably use it to pay for a prescription refill, groceries and possibly another book in the twilight series!

Oh gosh, if I didn't have other obligations like my son or hubby... this is a hard one. I guess I would buy myself that standmixer I've had my eye on that's on sale for 48 bucks :)

22 Lisa November 22, 2008 at 6:09 pm

I would buy the self-healing cutting mat and rotary cutter that I've had my eye on - so random I know!

Well it looks like my husband will be laid off in the next week or so which means no Christmas bonus. So I would use it to buy Christmas for my son.
Thanks for the chance

We would use this to pick a name off the tree our town has for low income families and buy a gift (or several gifts) for a child that won't have much of a Christmas

I kow this sounds sad, but I'd buy a new crockpot. I need a big one for my growing family and the first thing I'd do while my meal is cooking itself and I'm not slaving over it, would be run out for a mani/pedi! :) Treats for me all the way around!
