I'm pretty sure they ask your birthday because they are an alcohol company and there are regulations about the age of people they're allowed to send promotional items to.

I just sent this text and put in my 2 letter state abbreviation, then my birthdate. I did receive my code for a free rental.

I don't trust this one. I texted that number, and they asked me to provide my birthdate. There is no reason they should need that information.

this didn't work for me, I receive a message that it may be an invalid mobile number, then after trying again I keep getting a request for the abbreviation of my state, when I enter it, it returns to the same request again

You don't get a code but a rebate form you have to fill out and then they will mail you a code.
