Wow! I didn't realize that I was badgering! I thought I was asking a legitimate question that other people might be wondering about also. I think buying coupons could be a great deal, but I don't want to do it if it goes agains the rules set by the people who provide the coupons. I know Tara is here to help, which is why I am asking her the question.

Many coupons do say that, but people circumvent it by saying they're not actually selling the coupons. You're compensating them for the time it takes to clip, sort, and mail them out.

Isn't it against the rules to buy coupons? Don't they all say "void if transferred" or something like that?

It doesn't matter what they are called (buddies, etc), if you look on the back of the package it says in little tiny print "a johnson & johnson product" or something along those lines. I also told them when they questioned me about them being a baby item at Walmart, "if they aren't a baby item, why do you have them stocked in the baby department with all the other baby washes and soaps?" and they took them. The one time they gave me a really hard time, the manager came to the register and said that their computers are set up to know if a coupon is allowed so he told the cashier, "If the register accepts it...so do we!"

Ducky,

Print a list of the Baby Bath Products at http://johnsonsbaby.com/prodType.do?id=1. Make sure you scroll the top banner so the buddies box is showing. I had this problem. Left my whole cart, went across the street to FedEx Office, printed the page, called customer service on my way back in the store.

They took my coupons -- Target coupons mind you -- and gave me a $50 gift card for the inconvenience. Everything was free at that point!

As I tell the cashiers and managers, "The coupons doesn't list specific products, it says ANY and we stopped picture reading in pre-school."

Thanks, Tara. I lost out on a deal last time at Target. I will definitely carry the coupon policy with me from now on.

Karen, make sure you print out the official corporate coupon policy and carry it with you. It clearly states that coupons should be adjusted down.

Also, I've had a few readers comment that the coupons seem to be adjusting down automatically now at Target.

Target now is refusing to take my coupons when the coupon value is greater than the item price. Any one know of a way around this? Thanks!

I tried using it to get the Buddies Soap at Target, but the cashier wouldn't let me since she said it was for J&J and those were Johnson Buddies. I didn't want to hold up the line so I just told her to take it off.

Sam,

If you buy 20 coupons for $3.00 you are going to pay $3.00 for 20 Johnsons Buddies bar. The sellers on Ebay don't just sell one coupon for a certain price. You are going to buy multiples of the same coupon for one low price.

I don't get the whole buying coupons thing... if you spend 99 cents to buy a coupon for a 97 cents item.... aren't you losing money and not saving?

Sara, it was in the coupon inserts this past Sunday. If you did not receive it or want multiples, you can purchase off eBay or from any of the coupon clipping services listed on the coupons tab at the top of the page.

They're not shown in the image on the coupon, if that's what you mean, but I'd definitely call them a baby product. I've used them on my kids from around the age of 6 months up.

Do those count as baby products though? I've been questioned in the past about it because Buddies aren't technically listed. Just wondering and thanks....
