I got about 100 of them! I’ll be donating to our local food pantry! Thanks for the tip!

It is somewhat regional. Living in NYC, we get the short ads, and this deal is not part of it.

yes, i saw someone at my local walgreens getting ALL of the chapsticks. (i got 1 for myself). she said she was going to donate too. i hv to say i was surprised that this is being allowed because the coupon says 1 per customer.
Sarah
Emily, how did you get so many? Did you get 100 coupon books and use one coupon per chapstick?
Mary
The coupon states one per customer. How did you get so many?

i work at walgreens when you buy somthing with a coupon the cashier only has to scan the coupon once and it will take off the 1:00 off for every item bought in use of the coupon so if you buy 100 chapsticks you only have too give the cashier 1 coupon out of the booklet for the chapstick and it will automatically take off 100 dollars so you get 100 chapsticks for free! :)

I appreciate the donating, but here there are people clearing the shelves and donating, when some of us just want one or two. Please think about what happens if you use chapstick and actually want one for yourself.

The donators make me very angry. If they had ever gone to one of those places for help they would not donate. I turned to extreme couponing because of the way I was treated at one of those places when I asked for help with food and was completely insulted. I swore I would never go back and discovered couponing as a way to supplement my income and support my family. I wonder if these donators ever think about the people who are just trying to make ends meet to stay out of those charities? I guess they have so much money they need tax write offs!
Cathy
Donating Chapstick seems like a strange thing to donate but if you live up north where it gets cold they might need it.I have to agree that you shouldn’t take that many because there are people just wanting to get for themselves.Be reasonable about getting for donation. We have a place here that is excellent to donate to.They have a great reputation and I wouldn’t hesitate to donate to it.
Jen
I agree that donating is a wonderful thing. There are truely people out there that NEED the help. I also agree that clearing the shelves to donate is not right as it’s only fair to leave some on th shelves for others who would like them. I donate what I can when I can by mean of using coupons. I HATE that the “Extreme Couponing” show shows everyone as horders of everything. Jen, I’m sorry you’ve had a misserable experience with some charity. I’ve had to use them and that’s why I do donate what I can. I understand how uncomfortable they can make you feel at times, but when in NEED, I’m thankful for them to help me take care of my children. My store, in WI, is not running the same sale on Chap Stick right now. It’s 2/$3. For those who donate, I appreciate it and think you’re doing a wonderful service for others. No one can tell the future and you may one day need their services. As far as a tax write off?? I’ve never once gotten anything to use for a tax write off when I’ve donated. I just drop the items off, they say Thank You and I leave. So the comment that people who donate have so much money they NEED the tax write off, you have a lot of guts to insult so many people who are giving because they want to make a difference. With an attitude like that, I pray for you, that you’ll never NEED an organization that has accepted donations from good hearted (non-shelf sweeping) good doers.

The store now have a right to limit how many items customers have…its in their policy
eM
I have to say, the person who bought 100 should not be proud. The store managers in my area put a strict limit of one per customer after people started clearing the shelves. This is unfair for those of us who only want a couple. Just FYI – stores often send each other emails to warn employees to watch out for these customers.

don’t misunderstand I don’t mean don’t donate, that is not at all it. I mean don’t clear the shelves to donate, because there are also people who are buying that need them and use coupons to live. Just be kind to one another, we have a couponer that has 1000 razors in her stash, how many legs can one woman shave, lol.
