my best tip which also includes teaching my children about saving water is that we leave a bucket outside on our back patio so it will catch the rain water which we use to water our flowers & garden. My kids love helping out and along the way it teaches them to be conservative with what we have :)
We have been using steel bottle(klean kanteen) for water. Water is cold and no BPA problem with plastic bottle and it is good for the environment.Reuse Reduce Recycle.
We shop local and organic when possible!
Boil your water don't buy it. Saves money and no waste with the plastic bottles. I've been doing that for years.
I reuse the plastic tv dinner tray. Just wash them, then you can use them to make at home dinners for later in the week. Take leftovers put them in the tray, wrap with Reynolds wrap and then put note on it to tell you what is in it and freeze. Save money and recycle at the same time.
All of our lightbulbs are energy-saving. Enter me!
Oh how I would love to have this to take to school. The water there is just nasty.
Yesterday, I just started hanging my clothes out to dry outside. When the clothes were directly in the sun, they dried faster than if put in my dryer and I saved money to boot.
I'm going green!
Chelle´s last blog post..Happy Easter!
We try not to use throw away plates, cups or silverware. Thanks for the chance.
I love re-usable shopping bags! I have bought a few from WalMart and gathered a few freebies. I use them for grocery shopping and library books.
Teach your kids (by showing them) to turn off the lights when they leave a room! This is my husband and I's biggest mantra! We also quit using paper towels and paper plates-it saves a lot of money and the environment!

I am going to do an organic garden this year. I just paid $.99 for a cucumber!!! That is just crazy!! Wish I could have a year round garden but maybe in the future I will get a greenhouse. Thanks for the giveaway.
We've stopped using disposable dinner-ware whenever possible. This not only cuts down on waste, it cuts down on spending!
My best tip is to teach your children to recycle, reuse and reduce their carbon footprint by watching YOU!
We use reusable shopping bags, the compact lightbulbs, turn lights off when not in the room, do not use throw-away dinnerware, and grow all of our own produce (when it's the correct season, of course!)
We try to be as eco-friendly as possible, and it saves us a little green in both aspects.
Thanks for another great giveaway.
I use reusable shopping totes, plant a garden every year, hang my clothes outside, use reusable diapers, and much more; anything to save Mother Earth!!!!!!!!!!
I use the plastic bags that my groceries are bagged in as my garbage bags at home.
I always have a purse with me when I shop, so if the item I bought fits in my purse, I let the store keep its bag. It always gives me a little lift to see one less bag wasted!
I use the paoer left over from printing coupons after cutting them as paper for my shopping list,
we use filtered water,
recycle yogurt Diego cups as snack cups for my boys. they also like to use them for water play.
thanks for the giveaway contest

My earth dayt ip is to recycle
I added a earth day comment to my twitter

Reuse foil. It wipes off and good for another use.
My family gets creative with leftover meals several times a week as well as having one "no-cook" meal a wweek. It saves on energy, time and money, as well as eliminates the waste of food.
Get the kids to recycle their juice boxes at school. It is amazing how many can be saved each week!
We are giving up paper towels!
Visit and make purchases at local farmer's market. My kids love it as an outing too!
We always use reusable water bottles instead of bottled water from the store.
We reuse paper grocery sacks for craft paper, wrapping paper, and so many other things!
My favorite tip is just to look for a way to make do with something that makes less of an impact - really consider each thing I use or buy and ask if I could do it a better way.
Buying a water faucet filter was the best thing i could have done. I now longer need to buy plastic water bottles. saves ALOT of money too. I am a water freak...thats all i really drink so this would be an awsome win.
Give your kids baths in the same bath water, at the same time to save water! Save the earth!
grow your own veggies....even if you dont have a lot of land...you can grow maters in pots on a terrace or patio. I have a little patch of land that i grow maters, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, squash, spices, peppers and this year i may try to grow a couple stalks of corn..not sure yet but may try. Worth a shot. This year i am also putting sunflowers in around parts of the house intead of the traditional flowers that only last the summer. this way we get the seeds and can have a blast teaching the kids about all the veggies and sunflowers. Also for produce we cant grow I plan on going to our weekly farmers market on Tuesdays to buy all my produce. Getting back to the basics and having so much fun teaching the kids as well.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this great prize.

I have been saving my 1/2 gallon milk jugs for a few weeks. I cut them off and use them to grow my plants in that I started from seed. I have tomato plants that will be ready to move to my organic garden as soon as the weather is right. (I can also use the cut-off tops as funnels)

i typed a long entry but got a 408 error and think it was lost and now the kids are up...ack...so in short we plan to grow our veggies like maters, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, peppers, spices, mint, possibly corn (fingers crossed..this one is new for me), squash, pumpkins etc...and plant sunflowers instead of the ones that only last the summer. We are also only going to buy our produce from the once a week farmers market they have in town. We are going to have a blast this summer with the kids and teaching this year. We dont have a lot of land, but you dont need a lot of land..a few plants here and there, a few pots here and there, a little water and a lot of love is all you need!
thanks for the chanceto win this great giveaway!

I reuse return envelopes that come in junk mail. Just cut a piece of scrap paper to fit over the pre-printed address. If there is a bar code at the bottom of the envelope, make sure to black it out or it will confuse the post office!

We just started changing our light bulbs over to the environmentally friendly kind.
I don't accept store bags whenever I can just carry items out myself!
I have started washing all my clothes in cold water. I also plant a veggie garden.

Compost food you don't eat instead of wasting!
Plant something with your kids!! We planted Veggies and herbs for Earth Day. A home garden is a great way to go green, and a great thing to get kids involved in!
Get the kids involved in Planting a home garden!! We planted Veggies and Herbs for EarthDay! Save the Earth, get AMAZING tasting veggies, and have fun with the kids!!
Keeping my fingers crossed, I would love one of these.
I bathe my toddlers at the same time to conserve water, I use canvas reusable shopping bags, I use cold water for my laundry, I use glasses to drink my filtered water from not bottles. I have wanted a New Brita pitcher for a while, my parents had one when lived at home. Thank you
We only wash clothing in cold water.
I no longer buy bottled water.
I use totes for my shopping purchases.
I dry clothes by the sun & wind on the line when possible.
Thanks!

I'm all about the cloth diapers! These days they're just so easy.
I'm all about the cloth diapers! These days they're just so easy.
I also reuse plastic bags, etc.
The whole recycle concept isn't very big here in Nevada so when I teach my coupon classes I also teach people how they can recycle their papers.
I use used dryer softener sheets, rewet them and clean bathroom fixtures. Leave them dry and dust woodwork. Don't clean floor with them as they will become slippery. I got conused and left this hint on Walmarts page. I don't know how to twitter. Hope I put this in the right place.
We try to be GREEN whenever possible. We do the reuseable totes, reuse printer paper on both sides for directions and coupon printing, we have 2 rain barrels to collect rain water to water the garden, open the blinds in the winter to help warm the house, take old socks to make into wrags, run appliances such as washer at night to use less energy, use washable containers instead of throwaways, buy in quantity and divy up into snackable portions, use CFL bulbs, etc.
Reuse baby wipe containers for crayons, markers, toy cars, etc!
