Most accidents are avoidable, this is a good example of where it took a LOT of mistakes to allow this 'accident' to happen. Having no respect for anyone, the environment or anything but the bottom line is ridiculous. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out, you can't boycott them because you don't know the end supplier in most cases. BP does not sell it's gas to the Southern States so that station that you are boycotting may very well be fueled by one of it's competitors. The other reason has to be that we all consume oil in one way or another and our consumption is enormous.
