I’m still confused about ECBs – you can only use them on a future purchase, so it’s not really like getting one for .33 – it’s like buying one and getting one for .33, right? What am I missing?
Tara Kuczykowski
Sabrina, you’ll pay $5.97 out of pocket and have $5 to spend on a future purchase. So basically you could then turn around and use them to pay for another deal that earns ECBs to either reduce your out of pocket costs or increase your ECBs earned.
Ashley
I was told by one of the Mgrs that when you get the ECBs you redeem them during the next quarter. But then other people are telling me you can use on the next purchase. So, I’m guessing they just print out like the Walgreens RRs do? I haven’t paid much attention to CVS ads b/c of the ECBs since I thought they were redeemed during the next quarter and I didn’t want to wait that long to use them.
Tara Kuczykowski
Ashely, it sounds like the manager you talked to was confusing the weekly and monthly ECBs deals with the quarterly program. The weekly and monthly ECBs deals print out with your transaction receipt. You can turn around and use this to pay for another transaction immediately.
The quarterly program, on the other hand, gives you 2% back in ECBs for your total purchases in a quarter, plus 1 ECB for every two prescriptions you fill. These are only paid out every three months.

Thanks Tara I did the john freida and got the amazing deal you told us about! Yay! I love ECB’s and RR’s both.

Some people are commenting that they are scanning a 4 pack of cvs tp and it is $1 so they are using the coupon for a 4 pk instead of 1 roll for free. I am going to go to cvs and try this tomorrow.
Colleen
Do all CVS stores have this coupon scanner? Where are they located? I have not noticed one in the store I go to.
Ashlee
Wow, these are some good deals. At our CVS the coupon scanner is right next to the main checkout, just as you walk in.
Crystal
I LOVE this shampoo and am really sad I didn’t get that coupon.
Chrystal
My ad does not have the John Frieda in it…is it unadvertized or am I missing it in the ad?
Jennifer
Ye,a I don’t see the John Frieda either…It’s coming up next week though…I think?
Chrystal
Can’t be next week the coupons expire on Saturday (4-10-10)

I just found a coupon at Coupons.com for $2.50 off any John Frieda product.
The $3.00 off John Frieda coupon was from the Sunday coupon insert Smart Source on March 7, 2010, coupons always vary. In the future, you could always check EBay, that’s where I picked up 20 John Frieda coupons for just $3.99 and was able to get the products at my local Randalls for just .99 each during a sale that ended 4/6. I know other coupon services might have cost less per coupon, but I was buying additional coupons from the same person and overall ended up spending less.

Hi,
I don;t think I have this either in my ad (houston, texas), but I was wondering maybe its a monthly deal..?
Tara Kuczykowski
I believe it is a monthly deal. It’s working now, and it’s in the ad for next week as well. However, the $3 coupons expire on Saturday, so keep that in mind!
katy
Has anyone done it yet? Is it spitting out the ECBs this week?
katy
Sorry…by “it” I mean the John Frieda deal :)

My CVS has the 4 pack of CVS brand tp (regular price 2.99) for $1. I have received the $1 off paper product everyday this week. I am up to 4 packs of TP for free!
mary

Did this deal last night, bought 3 for 14.97, used (3) $2.50 off printables and got the $5 ECBs, YAY!!!

I’m SO SO SO bummed :( I did this deal today but didn’t get the ECB’s. Is it worth trying to call corporate or talking to a manager since technically I’m under the $15 requirement? My total was $14.97. Thanks for any help!
Anna
I did the deal today also but did not receive the EBS’s. The cashier told me that it had to be at least $15 before tax. What a bummer!
Anna
*ECB’s..oops
Crystal
This is in next week’s paper and the prices are $5 each, so it will work. I’m guessing it probably wasn’t supposed to work with the $14.97 price, but lots of ppl got lucky
Crystal
How can you get 2 free 2/$1 toilet paper rolls when the coupon is $1 off 1?
Tara Kuczykowski
They will not adjust the value of the coupon down as long as you’re using the full amount on the correct products. So the $1 would cover both rolls.
