CVS Free Gift In August
It's back!!! Get a free gift the first time you use your ExtraCare card at CVS during the month of August. I'm struggling to remember what others got last year, but I know I got a free bottle of CVS brand aspirin.

From the CVS site:

In August, the first time you use your ExtraCare card at any CVS/pharmacy store, check the bottom of your store register receipt for your coupon redeemable for a FREE GIFT!

Your coupon for a FREE GIFT will be valid for one week after receiving the printout.

I can't wait to hear what everyone is getting!

Thanks to The Frugal Find!

Does this not work on medicine purchases? I bought a CVS brand nighttime cold/flu medicine, but there was no free gift listed at the bottom of my receipt. :(
did you use your cvs card???

Yes, you have to use your card. I'm in NY. It will print out on the bottom of your receipt. Last week I got a coupon for 24 Motrin. Good to carry around with you in your bag.......especially if you use it :)

I got a coupon for a CVS lotion, 3 oz size value $1.69. My local CVS did not carry the lotion, but the department manager substituted another lotion that was priced at $5.99! What a deal!

I got a 4 pack of CVS brand AA batteries. Here in Florida, we use batteries like milk on cereal!

MY "free" was a BOGO offer on fullsize fruitopia product. Not exactly what I need but better than nothing. (in NC)

I wouldn't call this "free". I got a coupon for CVS Lipblock,
supposedly free, but having a limit of $.99 value; none of their
lipblocks were under $1.29 plus tax, so how is that free?

I live in Cincinnati, OH and used my card for the first time in August and did not get anything free on my receipt. Is there a minimum dollar amount purchase required?

At the beginning of the month, my receipt kicked out a free large dark chocolate bar certificate. Very delicious, so I guess that was my gift. I enjoyed it!

Pooja, the CVS free gift varies by card. People have received chocolate bars, aspirin, paper towels and more. It's nothing big, but it's still a nice little extra.

CVS Mouthwash, I would have prefered chocolate or even the paper towels - but hey, it's free.
