Consumer Recall: Morningland Raw Milk Cheese + More

There have been several consumer recalls over the past couple of days that may affect Deal Seeking Mom readers. Be sure to check your stockpile this weekend. Please refer to the links included in each section for more details about the specific recalls:

Morningland Dairy Raw Milk Cheese

Morningland Dairy is recalling more than 60,000 pounds of raw milk cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and has the potential to be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus.  The recalled cheeses is packaged in vacuum-sealed plastic packages and sold as random weight size retail packages.  Several Whole Foods stores in the New England area have also announced this recall because the cheese is sold at their stores.

The specific varieties of cheese are sold under the following brand names and flavors:

  • Morningland Dairy Raw Milk Cheese (from cow milk): Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Garlic Colby, Italian Colby, Dill Colby, No-Salt Added Mild Cheddar, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar and Sharp Cheddar.
  • Ozark Hills Farms Raw Goat Milk Cheese: Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Italian Colby, Garlic "N' Chive Colby, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar.

You can find the codes for the affected cheese handwritten on the front of the label.  The codes range from A10 through F250.  If you have purchased any of the recalled cheese, do not eat it and contact Morningland Dairy by phone at 417-469-3817 or by e-mail.  Consumers can also check Morningland's website for updates.

Toshiba T Series Notebook Computers

A voluntary recall has been announced for Toshiba Satellite T135, Satellite T135D and Satellite ProT130 Notebook Computers due to a burn hazard.  You can find the model name and number on the label at the bottom of the notebook computers.

If you own one of these computers, you should immediately download the latest version of Toshiba's BIOS computer program to their notebook computer.  If this program detects the notebook is overheating, you can disable the computer's external power and contact Toshiba for a free repair.  For additional information contact Toshiba at 800-457-7777  or visit their website.

Sharp 32-Inch LCD TVs

Sharp announced a voluntary recall of some of their 32-inch LCD TVs because the neck support on the stand can break, causing the TV to tip over.

The TVs included in the recall were manufactured between March and April 2010 with model number LC-32SB28UT, serial numbers 0028 32837 through 0028 35190, 0048 57501 through 0048 59020, 0048 61401 through 0048 64020 and 0048 72001 through 0048 78800.  The model number, serial number and manufacture dates are printed on a label on the back of the unit.
