Cake or Brownies: Which is Your Favorite?

by Tara Kuczykowski on September 29, 2008 · 836 comments

There is another big debate taking place this fall. Through October 12th visit PillsburyBaking.com to join the campaign and vote for which dessert you love best – cake or brownies! America’s favorite dessert will be announced on October 20th.

So take a minute to go vote, and then come right back here to win the fabulous prize package pictured above!

That's right! One lucky visitor to Deal Seeking Mom will get their own Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack. The prize includes a selection of Pillsbury baking products, including:

  • Pillsbury Stars and Stripes Cake Mix and Frosting
  • Brownie Mix
  • Quick Bread
  • Pillsbury Apron
  • and a Pillsbury Doughboy Doll that giggles (not pictured)!!!

Overall in my house I'd have to say cake takes the cake! But there's nothing I like better than an ooey-gooey, warm and chewy brownie fresh out of the oven with a big glass of milk. Mmm, having chocolate cravings just thinking about it!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment sharing how you voted and why! Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winner easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack as detailed above

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 5th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment number and post the winner on Monday, October 6th. Good luck!

While you're in a contest entering mood, don't forget to check out the Giveaway Gathering for a variety of contests being hosted on Deal Seeking Mom readers' blogs!!!

BROWNIES-hands down...yummy!! especially the homemade - from-scratch-version :) I have always had a weakness for brownies...I"m not a fan of frosting which is why I think I like brownies so much :)

I voted brownies. They are my weakness. There are some types of cake I just don't like - strawberry cake, lemon cake - but I never met a brownie I didn't like.

Mmmmm! Brownies! I like them best when they are still a little chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges.

I voted for the Brownies! I love the fabulous aroma while they are baking. :) It's as though I am in a bakery relaxing and drinking my coffee with no interuptions. I am a gooey center, yet CHOCOLATE crust type of MOM!
I love that the fine top layer is crusted enough to have a small crunch, yet melts in your mouth. FINALLY YES the warm gooey inside! YES, you had better have a cold glass of milk or a warm cup of java present to get this one down!
All of this is done in the privacy of your OWN HOME, WITH NO KIDS, NO HUSBAND and NO PUPPY!!!! (He just sits and stares knowing he can not have any!)

LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!

BROWNIES! Like you said--nothing's better than ooey-gooey fresh from the oven warm brownies with a big glass of milk! I like them a little extra gooey in the middle and I ALWAYS make the "cake-like" recipe (maybe that means deep down I'm a cake girl?!?).
