We have yet to be swept up in the Build-A-Bear craze, but I'm thinking that you could get a pretty good deal with this $5 off $10 Build-A-Bear purchase coupon.
Expires 9/29/09.
So tell me, does BAB have anything in the $10 price range? And do you have any other tips for keeping the costs down?
(Thanks, MoJo Savings!)

Yes... the less expensive animals are priced around $10 - $12.
As long as you can find a way to get out of there without dressing the animal, you can get a great deal with that coupon! :)
Once we even stuffed a bear and added a "sound" of the boys telling grandma they loved her, and gave it to her for a birthday gift!
This is a great gift idea for my grandsons.
I cant get it to print. IT says I've exceeded the limit but i havent printed it yet.
There is a same coupon on sunday paper about 2-3 weeks ago.
If you print it from your file menu instead of the buttons provided on the page, it should print no problem! :o)
There are $10 and $12 animals: http://www.buildabear.com/shop/browsecategory.aspx?CallingPage=BrowseCategory&Category=10and12
We take our toddler when we have coupons, and he really doesn't care to dress them, he just likes to stuff them and give them a "bath" in the air bath thingie.
So, we've escaped there spending no more than $5.00 ever.
We have gone many times just us adults and gotten $10 animals for just $5. They make great Christmas presents! Plus, as long as the coupon doesn't specify on an animal purchase you could use a second one to cut down costs on an outfit! With the right choices you could get a nicely dressed animal for around $10!
to add to my last post...they do mail out coupons sometimes that don't specify animal...I realize that this one does.
You can also sign up and earn points toward free certificates toward future purchases. I have save them and ended up getting a $50 (dressed special edition) bear for $5.00. They also have t-shirt for as low as $3.00. My kids love a trip to BAB they even get gift cards mailed to them for their birthdays.
Yes--they have three cute bears that are just $10. I bought one without clothes for a baby shower gift (I figured a newborn didn't need the dress up).
Yes! We have three adorable bears for $10.00 at our store and one or two for $12.00. My youngest son takes advantage of these coupons all the time!
I'd suggest getting a cheaper animal, $10-12. Don't buy clothes there, unless it's a great deal or something special. Instead, head to Michael's (remember to use a 40-50% off coupon) and you can buy outfits there that fit the BAB animals...and it's MUCH cheaper. We did this last year for our daughter's BAB birthday party...the kids made the stuffed animals there, then we came home where our daughter was able to give each of her friends a special outfit for their animals that she had picked out for each of them. Cheaper and more personalized for each of her friends!
We love BABW! All 4 of my kids share the animal clothes with one another. Many items are inexpensive and make nice stocking stuffers, good behavior rewards, etc. , including tops, pants, accessories, & hair. Haven't printed yet, so don't know if this is off any purchase or animal purchase only ...
yes, they have bears and animals that start at $10. watch for when they run specials. Like in Aug. they ran a great special I wish we had been able to get back to a BAB.
You can sign up for their birthday list and you'll get a $5 off $5 purchase coupon in the mail for each of your kids birthdays. There are plenty of T-Shirts, sunglasses, etc. that are only $5.
You can also find outfits on Ebay for a steal... Right now BAB has their holiday Halloween Kitty for $11. That would make it only $6, which is a steal... I went last weekend and had the newspaper coupon and another gift card so I ended up paying $3.50 for a pony, my granddaughter was happy but mad because I said no to the outfit. haha
How do you sign up for their birthday list?
We were able to get a large teddy bear for my daughter for around $10, not including clothes.
Also - this won't work for the coupon, but I thought this was so cute and a neat idea.... And not bad to have one or two on hand for last minute gifts - BAB kits for $9.95 - http://www.lakeside.com/details.asp?I=BDR&Ntt=build+a+bear&N=36&Nao=0&R=877462028BDR4&product=Build-A-Bear-Workshop-Kits
In the 8/30 SS there is also a FREE messenger bag with a purchase of $15 or more Q. It doesnt specify that it has to be $15 on a single item so if you were to buy 3 or more of the $10 bears, use 3 or more of the $5 off $10 Q's then you should also be able to use the FREE messenger bag Q as well! :D
Im going to try..lol
When Target clearances their little clothes in the pet department, they work perfectly for BAB and very inexpensive.
BAB will also let you have different colored "bows" to put on the bears ears for FREE. (Assuming you have a girl that likes them). My daughter has "dressed up" many a bear for FREE this way. They will also give you a choice of "hearts" for free (to put inside the bear before you stuff it) $5.00 oop for the experience of stuffing the bear and having the kids create a "birth certificate" on BAB's computer (also free) is well worth the money. Newborn clothes (preemie size on clearance) and dog clothes (often on sale at target) are other cheap ways to dress the bears. Be sure to join their "club" (also free) they will send you lots of coupons and offers throughout the year as well as points that earn you free gift certificates.
If the coupon won't print for you, you can right click and save a copy of the image as a picture and then print from your computer. It does not have a security code so it is OK to do this. Also the coupon is only good until Sept 28th and is ONLY good for $5.00 off a stuffed animal (NOT CLOTHES)!!
I tried to use these coupons today and I was told they are no longer excepting them because someone illegally posted it and it is being abused. They will only except emailed Q's. My boys were very sad :(
I work for Build a Bear and they should have let you use the coupon! Normally we are not allowed to accept posted coupons, but this one was given the go ahead. However, you won't be able to combine it with another offer (i.e. the messenger bag) and only one coupon per guest.
The clothes at Michael's aren't really that cute! They look really cheap!
If you have multiple kids, and are ona budget, the best thing to do is let them know "Hey we are going to pick out an animal today and clothes at our next visit" animals range $10 to $25 and if you ask, they will give you a pass so they can bring their animal back with them when you make the visit for clothes. Also ask about their "Stuff For Stuff" program. You earn points and then recieve certificates in the mail for $10 and thats a free outfit right there!
I think the least I've ever spent in Build A Bear was $110.00..Ah Yea, the LEAST! Thank god my job got hit by the economy BAD and they know mommy has no money anymore..I haven't been back in over 5 months!!! YES!!!
I have a bear buck card and i have 5 dollar of coupons and I dont know if I can conbind them?;):/ please answer
