Earth month is winding down now, but I've got a huge giveaway that will help you maintain your green efforts long beyond just this month. Included in this giveaway are the following items:
- Bissell Little Green Machine
- Clorox Greenworks Cleaners
- White Cloud Recycled Paper Towels and Toilet Paper
- Brita Water Filter Pitcher
- Tide Cold Water Detergent – not pictured
I had the opportunity to try these products out myself, and I've been very pleased with all of them. I think of all of them, the Bissell Little Green Machine is my favorite because it makes cleaning up all of those little kid and pet messes so easy and convenient. The most surprising would be the White Cloud recycled paper towels and toilet paper. I was suprised by how soft they were!
How can you win?

Recycle! we have a big green can that gets picked up every week and I try to make sure that It is full by putting everything we can in it instead of in the garbage.

Recycle - I was amazed how we were able to switch to a smaller size garbage bag, just by keeping out the boxes from cereal, granola bars, etc. It makes an amazing difference in how much waste goes to the curb!
filter your water and don't buy bottled water.
I suscribe by e-mail.
Thanks for the offer. Cloth bags for groceries, cloth sandwich bags, reusable aluminum water bottle.
Using reusable grocery bags. It helps the environment and keeps my house from being cluttered by the thousands of plastic bags!

As teacher I recyle things such as scrap paper, paper towel rolls , to even old food boxes and containers for my art activities and housekeeping centers.
When you run bath water or water in the sink, and you are waiting for it to get warm, catch the cool water to use for watering plants rather than just letting it go down the drain!

My favorite and I think the easiest is to use the CFL bulbs. You change the ones in your home and you don't even have to think about saving the environment. They do it for you!

We use those micro fiber towels instead of paper towels to clean windows, polish furniture, wipe off counters, wash and dry our vehicle. They work very well and when they get dirty, we just pop them in the washing machine.

My favorite simple green tip is to make my own cleaner (with vinegar, water and tea tree oil).

I've been using a lot less towel papers and using kitchen towels for drying hands / dishes. I also use a lunchbox to carry lunch to work. Everytime I go to the market, I buy a reusable tote to help reduce the amt of plastic bags used.

My green tip: Use everything you buy: food, paper products, clothing. And try buying used instead of new. Every piece of furniture in my living room is from Craigslist. I love them all, and I cry less when my children get them dirty.

Use filtered water instead of water bottles.
I am a subscriber to your email and I love it! Such great advice.
I use a SIGG aluminum bottle for me and my kids (no juice boxes for school - healthier and greener!) as well as bring reusable bags to grocery stores, department stores and just about any other store that would use plastic to hold my stuff!
Now that the weather is warmer, I dry my cloth diapers out on the line rather than tossing them in the dryer!

My family tries to live a greener life by recycling, using reusable shopping bags, buying energy star appliances, using compact fluorescents, using green household cleaners, filtered water etc. It's not much, but we are doing what we can! :)
my husband and i live greener by carpooling to work.
I guess the simplest thing is to make smal changes every day - get greener one step at a time. Maybe today you get a stainless steel bottle and ditch the bottled water. Tomorrow you bring your own bags to the grocery store. Then replace your bulbs when they burn out with environmentally friendly ones. See - it is easy being green!
