Join me every day this week for Back-to-School Giveaways. I’ll be posting 5-day giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!
As I’ve mentioned before, KIND Snacks have quickly become one of my favorite healthy snacks, and they’re especially great when I’m looking for a nutritious snack while I’m on the go. The makers of KIND believe that food should never be processed to the point that you can no longer tell what it is, and all of their bars are made from wholesome all-natural ingredients you can see and pronounce. With whole nuts and fruit held together with honey through a natural process that keeps them fresh, KIND snacks are packed full of flavor and have just the right amount of crunch!
KIND is a sponsor of the annual Great Kindness Challenge on August 14.
The Great Kindness Challenge is one day devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. This year’s goal is to have over one million children participate with the hope that this day will inspire a lifelong commitment to service and kindness.
From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist from Kids for Peace. Visit The Great Kindness Challenge for more information and to sign up to participate!

Today we took a “welcome gift” of toiletries that I have gotten for free (thanks to CVS and coupons), along with some other household items to our new neighbors who are from another country, and have very little with which to furnish their apartment.

I helped a handicap lady to her car with her groceries. Something I don’t think twice about, but it was really appreciated by her.
We will probably continue buying extra meals at the drive thru and then find a homeless person to pass it on to.

helping a senior lady out with her purchases at walmart and returning her cart for her. i am always looking for practical ways to have my children help other people (and me modeling them), whether it be carrying something for them, holding a door, saying thank you or giving up something they like to help someone who does not have what we do.

I make sure to say “Thank You” to every customer service person that helps me. If they’re wearing a name tag, I always include that in my thank you. I love seeing the look of surprise when I call them by name. :)

I think you have to constantly be on the lookout for ways to show kindness. It can be holding a door for an elderly person, or even just saying “I hope you have a good nite” to the cashier.
