Every week I’ll pose a question for you to share your experiences and tips. If you have a question that you’d like me to post, I’d love to hear from you!
It’s that time of year and Christmas cards are starting to show up in the mail! We like to tape the cards we receive on the spindles of the banister going upstairs, and I usually save them from year to year and cut the fronts out with pinking shears to use for gift tags.
If you’re looking for inspiration for your cards, Mandi from Life…Your Way put together this fun gallery with 9 other ideas for displaying Christmas cards.
How about you? How do you display the Christmas cards you receive? What do you do them once the holidays are over?

We hang a long piece of garland across the wall & hang cards over it :-)

Alyssa–We do something similiar only we use a large piece of ribbon with little clothes pins attached to it. Each card is attached with the decorative clothes pins (painted in red and green).

we have a metal rod with loops in it to hang cards from. works year round :)
Elizabeth
We put it up on each doorframe in our family room.

We have a large rod-iron sculpture on the wall in our kitchen. It’s square in shape, so we tape the cards allong the perimeter. By the time Christmas gets here, it is framed nicely with lots of beautiful cards!

BTW- Love the idea of reusing the cards as gift tags the next year! Definitely going to do that this year!

I bought some wire letters from Pottery Barn Kids in the letters J, O, and Y. They came white so I spray painted them red and hung them on the wall to spell JOY. This is the first year I’ve done this so I’m excited to see all of our cards on it. :-)

We take spools of ribbon and drape them over a door, the staple cards to the ribbon.

I wrap our banister in garland, so I use ornament hooks to hang each card like an ornament along the garland.

I just can’t afford them any longer and it seems a shame to send out something that’s thrown away in just a few weeks. The money I would have spent on cards goes to food or presents or donations…

I use my tried and true idea of clear fishing line-strung along the ceiling in the livingrm, dining and kitchen areas.
And to make it look a little fuller, if you will, I keep the fav cards from year to year and add those too!
Adds to the whole decorating thing.

Sometimes I just can’t bare to part with the really cute snowman cards!

We love to display Christmas cards. The kids tape them to the wall in the entry hall in wreath and tree shapes. Then we use them for scrapbooking or making tags for next year!

We luv to display cards too-but didnt want to mess up the wall from tape or holes from tacks. Each yr-I buy 2 rolls of door covering paper & totally cover 1 wall-we use masking tape to put the cards up-usu try to put them up in a xmas tree shape-and put other decorations on the paper as well. I usu like to run garland w lights around the entire frame & (esp at nite) the lights reflecting off the shiny paper add an awesome effect!

I have a wall of three windows across my den. I hang my Christmas cards on the window blinds by slipping them over the slats so you can see the front of the card. Been doing it for years and now my daughter is doing the same thing in her house.

I have a large antique mirror hanging in my entryway. Cards get stuck in the frame of the mirror year round. At the end of the season, I take all my Chrismas cards and cut out the pretty parts of them (like sparkly trees and snowmen). Then we punch a hole in the top and attach them with ribbon or twine to gifts to use as name tags!
Lauren
We have an artificial tree in the family room and hang the cards on the tree like ornaments. We keep some of our favorite ones throughout the years and rehang them every year and add the new ones.
Sandra U.
I tape a loop of yarn on the card and we hang them on our Christmas Tree.
