New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

I loved coloring with crayola crayons. I always got so upset when my mom would by Roseart or the clearance brand. Crayola crayons always lasted longer and looked better.

When we were kids (and money was tight), we would take all the old, worn down Crayola crayons, melt them and drip them over bottles. We put candles in the top and gave them as “home-made” gifts.
Good recycling habits were formed early on (thanks mom) and it also meant it was time for a fresh new box of Crayola!!!

I loved tracing my hand on paper with different color crayons. My son enjoys doing it now!

I remember the sharpener on the box – and still wondered what happened to it. That was my favorite part sharpening my crayons…

I could just sit for hours as a child and color. Loved me some coloring books. When I went off to college, on of the girls in the dorm would color at night to relax. Didn’t take me long to go get me a new set of crayons!
Jessica-MomForHim
I especially loved coloring with the pastel markers.

Favorite memory of crayola products. Hmmm – probably scribbling with every color in the box on a piece of paper until I’d covered the paper with several layers and then carving a design to reveal the many colors in the layers.

my mom got scrap paper rolls from the local newpaper printer… on rainy days she would roll it across the kitchen floor and give us marker/crayons/paint to paint all over the paper…. when we filled it up… she rolled out some more

I remember when I first learned to color in the lines. I also remember taking all the wrappers off and making a big mess.

I always loved getting new crayons. I just remember how good the brand new crayons smelled when you opened the box and I always loved going thru the big boxes and reading all the creative names for the colors. (Burnt Umber?)

My favorite was opening up a fresh box of crayons and I still love it! Coloring was an everyday activity at my house. My kids color almost everyday and I love how creative they can be!
Thanks for this great giveaway! : )

loved watching the kids peel off the wrappers on the crayons, the surprise look on their little faces, to them it was like they unwraped a new gift

Pick me~ I have a future artist in the house
Ok when I was little I loved coloring would sit there for hours…
I had some health issues when I was young and in winter spent alot of time inside my my sister & brother played outside in the snow… I would get pnemonia all the time and had been hospitalized several times for it. So I use to lay in bed and draw ( they turned out pretty good) what ever character was on my pillow case my mom placed on my bed. then color it with crayons or markers…. I still have a few of them in an art folder…
Winnie the pooh, Mickey mouse, goody & snoopy. So since I wrote this comment I pulled them out and showed my son… who now ants them hung in his room. Thanks for bringing up a good memory back even if I was sick and all. I loved being so creative and my parents love it to.
