New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

My favorite childhood memory with Crayola is summer afternoons on a blanket under the tree in my backyard. Nothing was better than my box of 64 crayons and my favorite coloring book! Now I love spreading the blanket out and getting out the crayons for my kids!

I remember peeling away the paper as the tip was used up. I would peel them ever so carefully, and just enough to expose the tip. I was kind of a fanatic about it.

We would always melt down our old broken Crayola crayons and use muffin tins to create new, multi-colored, circle crayons… these were the best!
Nikki
We used to use the markers often! Make a long squiggly and winding line with black, then color it in with the rest of the hues. It made for a fun art project.
Eva
I loved reading the names of the crayon colors because they weren’t always what you expected.
Eva
We would find textured objects, like leaves, and put them underneath a sheet of paper and color above it. It was like magic watching the shape and texture appear in our chosen Crayola color. :)
Lauren
I just loved all the different markers and just colouring all day in the summers! Now there is all the fancy stuff available :D

Nothing represents childhood better than a new box of Crayolas! The smell, the colors, the possibilities… I loved drawing trees and cats when I was young; now I do lots of sunshine and cars for my toddlers.

My kids and I just took all our old broken pieces and made the swirl crayons. A first for my youngest. I always loved getting a fresh pack of crayons and hated to use them too much.

My favorite memory of using Crayola products when you were a kid is the time my dad bought me the BIG box of crayola crayons in so many color options I did not know what to do with my self… He and I would color together and in fact I still have that box that the crayons came in! Great memories every time I look at the box! :) I would love to have those same memories with my little boy! I’ll cross my finger on winning this prize! :)
