Tara and I have been hard at work behind the scenes to make her vision for the most intuitive, user-friendly coupon database on the internet a reality, and we're excited to announce its launch today!

The Deal Seeking Mom Coupon Database is a comprehensive listing of coupons from newspaper inserts and printable coupon sites such as Coupons.com, SmartSource.com and Redplum.com as well as e-coupons from CellFire and Upromise. We'll be adding Bricks coupons and those listed on manufacturer sites as we go forward, but we didn't want you to have to wait any longer to start using it!

A couple of the features that we're very excited about include:

  • An expandable view to give you even more information about each coupon, including limitations, product categories and subcategories.
  • A blogging format field for bloggers that allows you to simply copy and paste the information for each coupon as you're doing your coupon match-ups.
  • A comprehensive search feature that allows you to sort coupons by brand, description, source and more.

Perhaps the most exciting feature, though, are the Personal Coupon Boxes! That's right – you can create an account to keep track of all of the coupons you currently have in your stash to make your own personal shopping and saving easier. With your Personal Coupon Box, you can:

  • Add your own regional or specialty coupons that aren't in the main database.
  • Edit the quantity of each coupon.
  • Edit the expiration date on printable coupons based on the date you print them.

I'm still updating the database with the new printable coupons that came out today as well as this week's inserts, and we have some tweaking to do as we figure out what works best for you, but we hope it will be a resource that helps you take your deal-seeking to the next level!

We welcome your comments and suggestions on any additional features that would make the database more useful to you. Feel free to email me at mandi@dealseekingmom.com!

Mandi Ehman is the Project Administrator for Deal Seeking Mom.

Oh My Goodness!!! Thank You!! Thank you!!! Thank You!!!!
I do not think I can thank you enough. I tried to do this on my own with a spreadsheet and it was a total failure, not to mention quite messy.
You are absolutely amazing!!! I bow down to you :-)

Thanks. I love creating databases and using them. I had starting thinking through one for my coupons... you just saved me a little time! :) Thanks so much. My husband just said you must be a girl after my own heart! Looking forward to using this!

Yea! Can't wait to use it! If I could make any suggestion, it would be to make the database that was "mobile friendly" for my iPhone. I sort my coupons by date, not category, so I'm always wishing I had a mobile database when I'm at the store and I want to find a coupon to go with a clearance deal that I find. Just a suggestion! Love your website, and I'm sure I'll be using it even more than I already do!

This is very exciting! This database will make my weekly ad/coupon matchups for Target and CVS so much easier and faster. What a great idea!

Here's a suggestion. Don't know if you can do this. If there's a way to put a whole bunch of coupon searches in at once and them have them all show up that would be great. For example, if there are deals on Pantene, Yoplait, Ziploc. I would like to put all those words in at once and then show the results.

When I do matchups I feel like I spend a lot of time going back and forth entering once product name at a time.

hey everyone, i'm fairly new to couponing & have a question. if something is B1G1F (like the planters nuts at Rite Aid this next week) and I have a $1/2 coupon, can I use it on the B1G1F? or would I have to buy 2 and get 2 free to use the coupon?

Reply

19 Jaz August 1, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Hi Anne, you can use your coupon on the BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) offer. But sometimes, if you have a nice cashier, they will let you use 2 coupons when you BOGO...

Yay, thank you so much for doing this. I'm so excited!

Thanks, Jaz. I went to Rite Aid today for BOGO on Covergirl, but they wouldn't take my $2/2 coupon because they said I was only buying one.

I am so glad you are all as thrilled as I am about this. I've been searching for something like this for ages and didn't find anything that met my needs, so I figured why not just create one. A huge thanks to Mandi for taking all of my ideas and helping me bring them into reality!

BTW, I can't remember who mentioned the mobile version, but it's already in the works!!! Thanks for any and all feedback. We'll be tweaking it based on your suggestions.

Yippee! I find that I am using increasing numbers of IP's and had no way to keep track of exp. dates except to note on a calendar or search thru by hand. Needless to say I lost some nice high $ coupons with this system. The ability to input my own coupons will save me so much time, and my family so much $$, that I want to yell out a big THANK YOU!

LOVING this!

I had been tinkering around with a database of my own, but wasn't having much success. Inputting was taking more time than it was worth, and I couldn't find a good way to import. Your database looks GREAT. I adore the way it is set up - it matches the way I 'think' about my Q's. Loving the mobile version idea for the future too! If I could give one suggestions - it would be a 'notes' field. But that's certainly not a dealbreaker!!

42 whimsygirl August 2, 2009 at 3:03 pm

I hope you don't mind me commenting twice.. but I just entered last week's Q's and I am blown away! It's even better than I first thought. Part of me thinks I'd like to be able to edit categories in my personal box - but then.. no not so much. I think I'd rather adjust my actual coupon box categories to your system.

Is there any way to show regional coupons? Since a lot of coupons vary by region, is there any way to distinguish which region the coupon is from or can this be set up to search by region? Coupons are very different in different regions, both in the amounts and the types of coupons.

Thanks again, everyone!

Kristie, thanks for pointing out that I didn't have it linked to the homepage. I was so excited to roll it out that it didn't even cross my mind. I'd like to have a graphic made for it, but I placed some temporary links in the far right sidebar under the search box.

Have you thought about making this a downloadable application, either for PC/Mac or mobile?

48 Jenna August 4, 2009 at 12:40 am

Hi ladies!

I can't wait to check the database (in a minute)! I just had to say that for the last two years I had been experimenting with different ways to make my couponing easier and started using Excel spreadsheets as my database. I clipped coupons, organized them as usual by categories and added them to my database which includes Coupon Name, Value and Exp. Date. It makes it waaaay easy for me to print out the sheets each time I go shopping so instead of rummaging through coupons I can easily glance and check off. Then I just pull them out of my coupon organizer and voila! The only problem is that it is a little time consuming but I enjoy it - so much easier! Point being, I think I'm gonna love your database!

Love love love it!

I'll watch for a button to add to my blog!

I have the same questions as comment #44. :D

Is there a regional system set up? That would make it so so so amazing! If, in the future you decide you need regional volunteers to help with the coupon values---I'm your girl!! haha. Your site is amazing!
