I’ll admit that I don’t know much about cooking with coconut oil, but I hear that it has wonderful health benefits, as well as a great taste. So I’m jumping on the bandwagon with this great deal at Amazon.

Are you a coconut oil proponent? What do you recommend I use it for?
(Thanks, Good Deal Mama!)

Coconut oil can also be used as a natural all over moisturizer for the body and hair. Its better than all those chemicals in lotions and conditioners. I use it every where I moisturize. Just dont use the same jar for cooking and body care :)

LOL, now I have images of women everywhere cooking and moisturizing at the same time.

Coconut oil is great in vegetable curries. I recently bought a jar for that purpose.

We use it in our green smoothies which we eat 3x a day.
I have recipes posted on my blog for them.

We pop popcorn in coconut oil with great success. It doesn’t make the popcorn taste funny.

As the gal above said, not to use the same jar of coconut oil for cooking and body care; lol, I have to tell you what we buy coconut oil for exclusively. I only use it for a natural, safe, and inexpensive alternative to store-bought intimate lubricants. I discovered this use on a forum of exclusively Christian married couples, and so many folks gave it thumbs up, that hubby and I gave it a try.
Just my two cents. :)

Yep, I keep a jar in my bathroom and one in the kitchen. In the winter it’s great to slather it on after a bath or shower. I’ve been trying to get to the point where I am not putting anything on my body or face or finger or toenails that I wouldn’t safely eat. That’s impossible as far as I know, for nail polishes still — but you can find ones without formaldehyde at least.
Coconut oil is great for cooking almost anything and is a great lip balm, hair and skin conditioner/lotion, etc. I wouldn’t be without it!

Also great as a baby moisturizer (after the bath). And I know masseuses who use it as a massage oil on their clients.

I use coconut oil for everything! Great for sauteing veggies! One of our faves is the following: Put asparagus spears on a cookie sheet. Brush with melted coconut oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bake at 400 for about 20 min. My kids love it! It has now become our favorite veg. Also I use it instead of butter to fry my eggs in. Gives it a fun flavor. And when I cook rice I put about 1 T. oil to 2 cups of rice. It is so yummy, and so good for you!

We use coconut oil for everything too. We make our taco shells in it instead of cooking oil. It gives them such a sweet flavor. We also made red potatoes with rosemary and instead of sauteing them in butter we use coconut oil. I also have some in the bathroom for a moisturizer. It works great on minimizing scares and I also used it on my belly to prevent stretch marks when I was pregnant.
