Complementing the selection of quality pet food and supplies in Kroger stores, Kroger Personal Finance (KPF) brings together a wide array of quality financial products and services from preferred providers for Kroger customers and their furry family members, including a new “accident only” pet insurance policy for just $9.95/month per pet.
To most pet owners, pets are family too! When pets get sick or injured, most of us are willing to spend almost whatever it takes to get them back on all four feet, but the price of veterinary care does not come cheap. As a matter of fact, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) vet bills last year in the U.S. topped $11 billion. For this reason, pet insurance policies are on the rise.
Kroger Pet Insurance coverage starts at just $9.95 for an accident-only plan and includes plans with up to $12,000 worth of annual coverage per pet. Sign up in Kroger’s stores or online!

To save money, I use coupons on dog food and watch for sales. I took advantage of a Target dog food sale today and got a $5 gift card when I purchased a 40 lb package of Pedigree dog food.

I have two yellow labrador retrievers, age 12 and 9. I try to save money on the costs of owning these two large-breed dogs by giving them Fish Oil and Chondroitin. This offers them “preventative” medicine for vascular and joints to keep them in tip-top shape and avoid trips to the vet. I also give them carrots, the beta-carotene may help their eyes and prevent cancer. Also, no table scraps, only dog food. In the past 5-6 years, we only see the vet annually, to have their required vaccinations. This is down from 2-3 trips per dog per year…..a substantial savings! Two walks daily complete the healthy ways we try to help our dogs, and save money!

Im the proud mom to 5 great danes. Needless to say out pet care costs are on the expensive side. To keep costs down we feed very high quality kibble to three of them and two are on a natural raw diet. The feeding is expensive, but we rarely need to see a vet except for annual checkups. Im a vet tech and a registered breeder so Im able to do a lot of things myself (shots, drawing blood, boo boo repair etc). I like to make their treats at home from human grade ingredients. It’s healthy and much more cost-effective than store bought treats. I love to keep my dogs healthy. They are my friends and companions.

My cat has allergies and needs to eat a very specific type of food (of which there are no coupons!) I joined PetSmart rewards club which does offer $ off your purchase occasionally throughout the year. $25 off $5 etc. I’ve also found coupons for money off a vet visit at PetsMart on cat food bags.
