Complementing the selection of quality pet food and supplies in Kroger stores, Kroger Personal Finance (KPF) brings together a wide array of quality financial products and services from preferred providers for Kroger customers and their furry family members, including a new “accident only” pet insurance policy for just $9.95/month per pet.
To most pet owners, pets are family too! When pets get sick or injured, most of us are willing to spend almost whatever it takes to get them back on all four feet, but the price of veterinary care does not come cheap. As a matter of fact, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) vet bills last year in the U.S. topped $11 billion. For this reason, pet insurance policies are on the rise.
Kroger Pet Insurance coverage starts at just $9.95 for an accident-only plan and includes plans with up to $12,000 worth of annual coverage per pet. Sign up in Kroger’s stores or online!

I save some money by making homemade dog treats – technically gourmet, and I know what goes into them and can control the costs.

I usually buy cat food by the case when it’s on sale and use coupons. We have a big bag full of cat treats, all free from coupons! I also do the surveys on Petsmart receipts and get a $3 coupon for that.

Sunday papers regularly run coupons for the dog food we use so I usually ask friends and relatives from thiers if they aren’t going to use them. I also buy the HUGE bags of food since our 2 dogs are each 90+ pounds, we go through alot of food. If I bought smaller bags I would be buying food every week and spending more.

I save money by not owning any animals–it also saves on cleaning! However, one thing my parents do to save money is to grow their own catnip (they have 4 cats) and then make their own catnip toys. The cats LOVE it!
