Olive Hoop Necklace

Who knew that old, broken glass could be turned into such beautiful jewelry? I get tons of compliments on my Olive Green Hoop Necklace. People are shocked when I tell them it came from a vintage wine bottle.

Therein lies the true beauty of these pieces. Each one is utterly unique and has its own personal story behind it, which is included with each jewelry piece. The only problem is you'll find it tough to choose just one item with such an array of styles and colors.

More About Bottled Up Designs
An avid glass and bottle collector, Laura Bergman spent countless hours poking through the many old glass and bottle dumps scattered throughout the natural wooded habitats and rural farmlands in Pennsylvania. However, seeing the beauty and the history in the broken glass left behind, decided to pick up the pieces and turn them into something beautiful again.

We try to recycle as much as we can but the whole green things hasn't hit our small town just yet!

I wish I was creative enough to 'upcycle'! Just the usual recycling for me. I am trying to make my children aware of our recycling efforts--you can never start too early!

18 Sue December 5, 2009 at 5:37 pm

I try to upcycle or reuse anything that I can....baggies (after washing), lids from detergent bottles (for sand box), paper towel tubes for crafts, "scrap" paper for notes, etc.

21 Amy December 5, 2009 at 5:40 pm

I recycle paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and aluminum. I also use the reusable grocery bags when I go shopping at the grocery store. Sometimes I still use the store plastic bags and I reused them as liners for my garbage can. I think my teenage daughter would love the bottled up jewelry, especially the necklace design with the glass circle. She once made her own necklace with a bottle cap that she poked a hole in and put on a cord. If I win the giveaway, I plan to give it to her for a Christmas gift. Thanks!

We recycle our newspapers, jars, cans and bottles. I have started saving tupperware (sour cream, smart balance, etc) containers for our baby to play with. If they break, then I can get rid of them, but it gives them another use!

I recycle everything I can in my house. Old items go to the Re-Store that resells them to people in the community. Old clothing usually goes to charity or consignment shops. We recycle paper and plastic and metal.

I love reusing and recycling things. No one needs to throw away as much stuff as we do!
