Bottled Up Designs
Olive Hoop Necklace
Who knew that old, broken glass could be turned into such beautiful jewelry? I get tons of compliments on my Olive Green Hoop Necklace. People are shocked when I tell them it came from a vintage wine bottle.
Therein lies the true beauty of these pieces. Each one is utterly unique and has its own personal story behind it, which is included with each jewelry piece. The only problem is you’ll find it tough to choose just one item with such an array of styles and colors.
More About Bottled Up Designs
An avid glass and bottle collector, Laura Bergman spent countless hours poking through the many old glass and bottle dumps scattered throughout the natural wooded habitats and rural farmlands in Pennsylvania. However, seeing the beauty and the history in the broken glass left behind, decided to pick up the pieces and turn them into something beautiful again.

I love the necklace pictured. We recycle a lot of items into new crafts with my daughter. Our favorites are turning toilet paper rolls & egg cartons into projects. Check out our blog.

My daughter and I recycle everything we can. It is so funny because she will say mommy we can recycle this. She loves to recycle. I use to recycle all the plastic bottles and aluminum cans from my work. When I would walk out with a huge black bag people would look at me like I was crazy. When I say I use to is because they moved my company to Wisconsin :( I loved that job. Also when we recycle cans we put the money in my daughters savings account that we get.

We recycle everything we can, we compost and we pass along anything we can (clothing, magazines, furniture, etc) to avoid putting it in the landfill.
I am not very artsy…..the limits of my repurposing/recycling are making “jumble” crayons by melting old crayon bits in to new shapes :)

How creative! : ) Love it!

I love all the great magazine we get for free! I take a pile of them to a small group home for special adults! They love them and when they are done they pass them on or use them for craft projects!

I reuse things as much as I can before taking them to the recycling center. We always reuse ziploc bags. Use grocery sacks for trash bags, etc. I also love to “recycle” great things that other people are throwing away. Just a few weeks ago we got a great glider rocker and footstool that had been put out on the curb. I just need to recover the cushions and it’s going to be beautiful!

I try to be as green as possible. I recycle plastic, paper, glass…pretty much anything I can. I even took home a bag full of recycleables from my Mom’s this turkey day since her area does not recycle.

We sort our trash and recycle everything we can (paper, plastic, newspaper, glass, etc.). I keep all kinds of containers and use them for something else (glass jars, oatmeal canisters, coffee cans, etc.). They can be made into something pretty by decorating them with paints, wrapping paper, clay and other things. They can also be used for numerous craft projects.

I reuse all the paper my kids bring home. I either use it to type up coupons, let my younger kids write on the back or recycle it.

Oops -sent too soon. I never throw away clothes or anything made from fabric. Items that are not suitable for donating can be used to make other things – it’s like getting free fabric. For example, last week I made two sweaters for my daughter’s dog out of an old pair of knit pants. This is a great question – I’m going to read through the posts to get some more ideas.
