For Valentine's Day my husband made me a piece of heart art out of my favorite Nerds flavors - grapes and strawberry. It was so thoughtful and meant so much!

Thanks for the opportunity!

the most meaningful gift I ever gave was a framed photo of my grandma (who died when I was 2) holding me in her lap. I gave it to my mom on my daughters second birthday, she cried for like, 20 minutes!

We sent my son a baby my sister had made while we were waiting to bring him home - we had slept with it for weeks so it would smell like us and we would be familiar to him. It is still his favorite thing 2 1/2 yrs later.

I gave my grandma my waterford crystal cross necklace when hers was broken/taken when I was in my teens. I remember she was so touched and had tears in her eyes. When she died, my mom found the necklace and gave it back to me.

This year money has been a little tight so I've been forced to be creative. I found an amazing old picture of my father's dog. My dad was devistated when his best friend died. I had the photo enlarged and mated and framed. I found a great quote and it turned out beautiful! Can't wait to give it to him!

I gave my boyfriend (now husband) a matted collage of pictures we took during one of our first dates for Christmas. It includes the dates and hand-written conversations we passed to each other. He now has it hunger up in his study! :)

Once for my moms birthday I wanted to give her something hand made and from the heart. I just worked a full day and had to work again early the next morning. I stayed up all night making her flowers homemade. I cut all the little pieces of crepe paper out. Twisted and tied them up into this sad pathetic bouquet. I gave it to her on her birthday and she loved it. That is what I wanted, I wanted for her to know that I love her and would rather give her something from the heart instead of buying something ready made.

I took my friend on a much needed vacation. She had worked hard and given so much to others, but did little for herself. I was happy to take her out for a fun, stress-free weekend.

My grandmother told people I was her sunshine so I found a music box that played You are my Sunshine and gave it to her for Christmas. She has been gone for many yrs now, but I play it at Christmas time.

I have a dear friend who has always been there for me, helped me with my seven children when they were small, was there when my parents passed away, and supported me through a divorce, for Christmas one year I wanted to let her know how much i appreciate her friendship so for the 12 days before Christmas I gave her one gift for each of those days and each gift had a special meaning for her and I. What a pleasure it was for me to see the expression on her face each day as a gift arrived from me.

The most memorable gift I gave my husband. I printed out all of our emails to each other and poems that I had written during our long (and long distance) courtship then I placed them in a beautiful scrapbok for him. We both love having this wonderful artifact of our early times together! It's especially cherished as I have never made another scrapbook since, and we have 2 kids!!! Bad mommy!!!!

When my husband got married, I gave him a small pewter envelope that had a red heart on the front and said "I Love You" and on the back I had engraved "I'll Wait For You" because he was about to leave for basic training. He carried it with him until he lost it in Iraq earlier this year. Now that he's home, we keep going through his gear every now and then, hoping to find it because we were both so upset when he lost. Even if we don't find it, it's a little something we'll never forget.
