Amy Peters’ Studio Fortune Cookie Necklace
Fortune cookies have a special meaning for my husband and me. I gave him a hinged silver-plated fortune cookie Christmas ornament with a custom fortune inside on our wedding day. So I instantly fell in love with these fortune cookie necklaces when I first saw them, and they’re just as precious in person.
Choose from seven preprinted “fortunes” or create your own message up to 28 characters. Amy even makes Itty Bitty Fortune Cookies that would be a perfect choice for a preteen.

I gave my grandmother a dvd picture collage set to a a beautiful song. It was a collection of photos of my daughters who were the apples of her eye. A year later she died. I still sob when I watch the video.

I have to say my husband surprised me with a 3 day cruise on my daughter’s first birthday! He arranged for my parents to come to our home to babysit. This was our first trip away together since she was born.

The most meaningful gift I can remember giving was to my Mom, 2 sisters & a brother. When my father passed away, I ‘rescued’ his typical shirts, which were the embroidered Mexican wedding shirts. I saved them and made an art quilt for each person. Each quilt was different and symbolized some aspect of that person’s relationship with my father. The smaller pieces were used to make Christmas ornaments for his grandchildren. Each ornament had a photo of my Dad on the back and were entitled ‘How He Loved Christmas!’. Each family member responded warmly.

After a miscarriage at Christmastime, the following year I was due on Christmas day to give birth to our first son. This was of course a wonderful gift for both of us even though but he didn’t arrive until after the new year.

I think the most meaningful gift I ever gave, was last Christmas, while my husband was overseas (Marine) we sent him a video tape of our kids wishing him a Merry Christmas, along with some homemade cookies!

When my dad was in his 60’s I found a book he had been looking for for years. It was the book he first learned to read-Baby Ray- It was expensive but so worth it to see the look on his face that Christmas!

The most meaningful gift I’ve ever gotten was from my dad. He made a photo album for me and included photos of my and my family from the day I was born up to that time. It is one of my most treasured items.

The most meaningful gift I ever gave was when I gave my son the pocketwatch that belonged to my greatgrandfather. It has been in the family for generations, on my mother’s side, and it was a very special moment when I handed it down to him.

Oops! I see I’m supposed to tell about the most meaningful gift I’ve given, not gotten! (Please delete my other comment, thanks!)
It wasn’t for Christmas, but I made two of my aunts books that contained all of the information and photos I’ve collected about our relatives and family history. We spent a full day going through them together and talking. What makes them so meaningful is that it has since opened up a whole new relationship between them (they are sisters). They have spent the last year discussing and remembering things from the childhood….things the other never knew or understood and come up and they now talk on the phone almost daily and share with me often. Those gifts have really had on impact on all of us!
